February 2011, Sonija exposed she and Zhu developed a sister-brother love relationship. Despite Zhu being 5 years her junior, the couple still developed their relationship smoothly. September 2010, Sonija was shooting Jade Palace Lock Heart in Mainland, where she met Zhu through a blind date dinner. Their relationship quickly developed, where Zhu successfully proposed to Sonija in February. Sonija announced the good news on Weibo, and uploaded a close-up photo of her and Zhu. She sweetly wrote: “Happiness, I waited too long. Just when I thought my hopes were gone, a foolish man came along. He said: ‘I’m willing to let bully me for a lifetime!’ When I heard this, tears came streaming down. This is our story.”
The day before, Sonija had a few days off from the series she’s shooting in Shanghai. She and Zhu held a simple heartwarming wedding witnessed by just her relatives, close friends and old classmates. She uploaded the wedding photo, where she appeared dressed in a low-cut dragging wedding dress with her husband Zhu, who was dressed in a tuxedo, standing on the grass with a ocean view background. She happily announced the good news: “Today, I’m married!” In just a few simple words, Sonija already expressed her joyous moment. Steven Ma: Hurry and have a little Zhu
Good friends from the industry sent their blessings. Ex-rumored partner Steven Ma said: “I should call you Mrs. Zhu! I am truly happy for you. Tavia Yeung: Lightning wedding is not stable enough
Tavia Yeung learned of Sonija’s marriage through Weibo, but did not have time to congratulate her and send her blessings. Asked if she feels her marriage was too sudden? She will have to postpone her Mainland wedding banquet until a little later because she will have to get back to shooting very soon. Virgina strongly praised Zhu as an absolute good man.
