Countering the Ricky Wong ‘City TeleCom’ poaching crisis, TVB issued a notice ‘reminding’ their employees of the consequences of signing a contract with outside companies. Yesterday during an interview, Ricky said TVB’s notice did not affect artists joining his company. He also made a stern statement that with the company’s strong background, it is guarantee the Employment Ordinance is strictly followed. The company will look into industries practices, injustice and unreasonable clauses as well as what does not exists. Regarding the defaming comments, Ricky holds the right to take legal action against them.

Earlier TVB’s VP Norman Leung said Ricky is trying to get publicity? Ricky said: “I have no hard feelings! In fact, I understand TVB’s situation, but it is a fact that we have already signed with 100 employees.” As for TVB’s Employee Association president (Lau Seun On) expressed yesterday: “I have been in TVB for over 20 years and never have we experienced this. I also haven’t seen the notice this time. Taking the poaching crisis into account, I will think of this notice as TVB’s ‘sincere’ reminder.” TVB Deputy of Foreign Affairs (Tsang Sing Ming) also expressed that the notice is a ‘sincere memo’ and has no threat intentions. TVB artist Roger Kwok believes this incident is a good thing because artists can have a cool down period. As for Kevin Cheng and Michael Tse, they defended TVB. Kevin said as long as Virgina Lok does not leave TVB, he will not appear in other TV stations. Michael said money is not everything.
