Nancy deeply understands that she does not need to explain her relationships nor does she care how people defame her: "In the past, I would feel unhappy by negative news, but now that I'm older, I matured and don't care about these news! It's not the first time the magazines wrote negatively about me. I just feel the news could affect other colleagues.
In fact, I really thank the magazines because coincidentally my series Gloves Come Off was airing and they gave me free promotion. As for the stories, I just laugh it off! The purpose of entertainment news is to entertain the public. I won't explain my relationships to the public because I am the one who knows best of my personal relationships. There is no need for others to comment on my relationships nor do I care if people defame me!"
Today, by age 25, women who are still not dating or married are seen as 'middle-aged', and those reaching age 30 are labeled as 'sing lui' (left behind women)! 30 year old Nancy frankly expressed she will not fall into this label nor is she afraid how people see her. The most important is to live a true and brilliant life: "30 years ago, this is actually the most brilliant age in life. I also want to remind all girls in Hong Kong, why must we be so silly? Why must we fall into that label and have something control our lives? I think the term 'sing lui' is just a fad. I believe after some time, we won't be using this term anymore!"
Epilogue
For the majority of TV series Gloves Come Off, Nancy and Power Chan were acting using sign language. Nancy said: "When Power and I were rehearsing the scenes, the people around us did not know at all what we were saying or doing. When it was time to actually shoot the scenes, we called cut and NG ourselves because even the director didn't understand sign language. It was only the two of us that knew what was going on, so we were considered the big shots, haha!"
