He started out as an extra and worked his way up to become an award-winning leading man, gathering awards around the region.
He was recently named Most Popular Hong Kong TV Actor at the Singapore Entertainment Awards.
The 38-year-old told U-Weekly that the most important thing an actor has to do is to be uninhibited and to throw himself into his role wholeheartedly.
He admitted it's easy for him to be crazy, stern or devastated in front of the camera.
Since his unforgettable role as Dak Dak Dei in 2007's Heart Of Greed, Moses has taken on a slew of comedy-dramas, including In The Eye Of The Beholder, Fly With Me and Can't Buy Me Love.
He said: 'Comedies are definitely not a one-man show; they need everyone in the cast to work together. If no one plays along with you, the result won't be funny even if your acting is hilarious.'
In the drama Can't Buy Me Love, Moses said his best partner in crime was not his love interest played by Charmaine Sheh, but his brother, played by Louis Yuen.
'Working with him was very exciting. There was a lot of unexpected chemistry between us,' he said.
'And (veteran actresses) Lee Heung Kam and Susanna Kwan may be our seniors, but they really surprised us when they hammed it up.'
But audiences will see a more serious side to him in this year's blockbuster drama, Heaven And Earth.
'The executive producer really 'used' me to the extreme. Apart from losing 14kg for the role as a rocker, I also have to learn Thai boxing, bare my torso and tattoos, and even play the guitar and sing,' he said.
Still, Moses is willing to be 'tortured' as he has worked with executive producer Qi Qiyi for many years and they are very familiar with each other.
Unlike his fellow celebrities, Moses, who has been linked with Hong Kong actresses Bernice Liu and Charmaine, has a more positive attitude towards the notoriously aggressive Hong Kong paparazzi.
He said: 'Their job hasn't changed from the beginning; they only take photographs.
'If you want to blame someone, blame the people sitting in the office typing out the headlines.'
The actor maintains the same attitude towards rumours that are written about him.
'If they are false, I won't be afraid of what people write. But if they are real, there's no way I can avoid them,' he said.
