Jessica Hsuan and Patrick Tang were shooting a thief chasing scene for TVB new series
Special Duties Unit by the pier yesterday. In the scene, during a confusion, both the thief and the car fell into the water. For safety reasons, the crew used a dummy to do the scene. Initially, the scene was suppose to be a tour bus that seizes hostages, but to avoid the scene being linked to last year's Filipino tour bus hostage tragedy, the scene was deleted. Jessica said: "That incident was a tragedy, now the script changed to use a boat for hostages. To audience, this is more comforting, I feel that it's better not to have it then to have it. Perhaps in 1 or 2 years when people forget about the incident, that can greatly reduce the pressure on the artists too."
Patrick also expressed he respects all decisions, and said that day when they were shooting that scene, he also felt very disappointed because the images of the incident was still fresh in memory: "Now that we changed the setting, I believe it will be a lot more comforting for audience." When speaking of Chan Kwok Cheung's formal announcement of his entry into TVB, Patrick smiled and said he hopes to get a raise and that when he buys a cell phone, he can get 30% off: "Because I can't catch up with the new versions of iPhones, so if our Boss has the discounts, won't that be a joy?"
