Then, she criticised its low wages and long working hours, saying she prefers to work in China.
But that didn't stop TVB from nominating the actress for three accolades at the StarHub TVB Awards, to be held next month.
She is up for My Favourite TVB Female Character (as Cheng Gau-Mui in No Regrets), My Favourite TVB On Screen Couple (Wayne Lai and Tang in No Regrets) and My Favourite TVB Actress.
In a phone interview with the Singapore media, she wouldn't address her remarks about TVB, but revealed her passion for her characters.
How do you feel about being nominated for the three awards?
All nominations make me happy. They tell me that I didn't play the roles for nothing.
Is Cheng Gau-Mui in No Regrets your favourite role to date?
It's definitely one of my most challenging roles... She is so rough and masculine. It's very tiring to portray a woman trying to behave like a powerful man.
What roles do you hope to play in the future?
I prefer to play roles like the fourth wife in Rosy Business. She is gentle and very compassionate. She is the epitome of what a woman should be - and she uses love against evil. (I feel that my) dramatic work should remind people of the virtues of women.
The second StarHub TVB Awards will be held at Marina Bay Sands next month.
