Since Shirley Yeung made her announcement on Tuesday, June 28th of her breakup with Gregory Lee, she was instantly surrounded by negative news. It was rumored she was 2 months pregnant with rich new lover Andy Ng's baby, as her reason for heartlessly leaving Gregory. Gregory was seen as the victim in the whole incident, while Shirley carried the betrayal name. Last night, Shirley accepted TVB's Scoop interview and cried her eyes out. She expressed she broke up with Gregory several months ago, just he couldn't accept it. As to the pregnancy rumors and new lover rumors, Shirley although denied, but she said frankly she has a pursuer. She hopes to find someone that truly can take care of her to marry and have a baby as soon as possible.
Relationship had problems since last year
There are several versions to Shirley and Gregory’s break up. First it was rumored she had a third party, an old classmate of hers named Andy Ng and is even pregnant with his baby, then it was rumored she disliked Gregory being a fan of car racing, and his so-so career. Suffering from love injuries, his family expressed they were baffled by Shirley’s sudden attitude, while Gregory expressed he still deeply loved Shirley. Accused of betrayal, Shirley has been keeping her silence, denying to respond to all rumors, but last night during the interview, she couldn’t stand it anymore and spoke up for herself.
Ex-boyfriend’s family were present at the time she moved out
She said last year, her relationship with Gregory already had problems and differences. Around February or March this year, she moved out of Gregory's house, which clearly means they have separated. At the time, Gregory's family was there too, and clearly knew what was going on. When speaking of the breakup decision, Shirley tried hard to hold in her tears as she said: “We both worked very hard [on the relationship], we both contributed before and have really cared for one another, but when we get more mature, our thoughts change. I really want to find someone that truly can take care of me, so I came to this decision.” She then broke down in tears, expressing that love is something very difficult to talk about.
Attended Gregory’s birthday as a friend
Shirley explained why she appeared with Gregory on his birthday in May, it was because that night Gregory called her and said he really wanted her to go, and that many friends are waiting for her. As a friend, she did not want to not be there on his special day. At the time, her family opposed to her decision too, but she did not listen and still went. Shirley said she didn’t know she would be greeted by so many reporters there, so if she knew that many reporters would be there, she may not have went. What shocked her most was when Gregory told the media they were going to get marry soon. Later when she was being asked about the marriage, she stressed all along that they had no plans for marriage, but didn’t want to say they were already broken up.
Consensus on breakup announcement
Until last week, Shirley decided to announce the break up. The night before the announcement, she called Gregory and told him about it. Although she knew Gregory still hasn’t accepted the fact, she still decide to tell the media. Results, that day when she was going to the event, she discovered the media was following her, the news spread that quickly. She is in doubt why Gregory is always saying he’s shocked by the break up, but in fact they had consensus before she announced. Asked if she has a new lover? Shirley said she is currently emotionally confused, and has not let go of the relationship yet. However, she has noticed the friends around her, the ones that have always cared for her, she hopes to find a suitable partner, one that can truly take care of her soon.
Wants to find a partner quick to start a family
As to the pregnancy rumors, she believes its because she’s often telling people that she loves kids. She is currently 33 years old, not young anymore, her parents are already 60, she really hopes to find a suitable person soon, start a family and have grandchildren for her parents. So is she pregnant? Shirley said no, but she does hope to have kids soon.
Gregory’s father (Ding Yeh): She’s best at crying
Regarding Shirley crying on her interview with Scoop, and implied that Gregory couldn’t take care of her, so she decided to end the 9 year relationship. As Gregory’s father, Lee Ka Ding (Ding Yeh), was absolutely furious, and even used profanity in his response. He said: “She said in February or March they had consensus, but she still X came to eat dinner? At the time, she even came to my house and played with my 2 dogs and came to have dinner with us. In May, on Gregory’s birthday she came too! I can say without fear that at the time they 100% did not break up. Because last month, on the 26th, she went to the set to find Gregory, and stayed with him until late night snack, and she even said she’ll pay for it! Regarding Shirley breaking down on the Scoop interview, Ding Yeh refuted: “What is she best at? Ding Yeh said: “She can do whatever she wants, it’s none of my X business!”
Augustine Lee: Stop Lying
As for Gregory’s older brother Augustine Lee, reporters saw him walking Shirley and Gregory’s first dog ‘Cho Cho’ while waiting at the Lee residence. When asked if Gregory knows about Shirley’s interview? He shouted: “He knows. He is feeling like how his whole family is feeling, heartbroken. Many friends called after watching the interview, and said they felt bad for my brother. We were together for 10 years, I don’t understand why Shirley won’t tell the truth and give Gregory’s justice back. Why is she telling lies?!” He said there is evidence that Gregory’s story is the truth, and not announcing it is to avoid further hurt. He said: “I am very disappointed in Shirley for telling lies for her and her new lover.”
