During the toughest two years, Amigo was still wanted by NOW, Ricky Wong and other management companies. Although he engaged in self-discipline and wanted to repay TVB's understanding for him, he insisted to stay as the PA for TVB. January of this year, he was arranged to co-host JSG Selections with Eric Tsang. It was said he received only HK$2,000 for the job.
According to an insider, Amigo initially was suppose to make a comeback on-screen, but since he agreed to help producer Tsui Yu On on new sitcom Love . Return Home, his new contract won't be in effect until May 1st. According to the source, Amigo is able to make this comeback because of 'backup support' from three of TVB's big players including Virgina Lok and Catherine Tsang.
Yesterday Amigo accepted an interview yesterday and admitted that he did sign an artist contract with TVB again. He insisted: "I really have to improve. PA and MC are two different types of work, it's just changing work environments." When speaking of TVB valuing him and increasing his salary? He said: "This time, I am very pleased by the adjustments. I will work hard." He reveals his family is very supportive of him going back on-screen, when speaking of his 'intimate friend' Natalie Tong? He said: "She supports me too."
Virgina also supports Amigo to make his comeback: "After all, he has been with TVB for so many years and can assume personal responsibility. If it wasn't for all those things that happened before, his future really did look good." Virgina said a few years ago, he really did feel down and when discussing with her, he teared up: "He just felt he lost all hope."
