Former TVB actress, Bernice Liu revealed that her life has been normal yet fantastic since leaving the company.

According to Popular Asians website, the actress, who left the company in 2011 after 10 years, has already filmed several mainland Chinese dramas after signing with mainland Hunan TV.

The actress said, "I really want to thank TVB because without them, the Bernice Liu today would not exist."

Bernice continued, "I really like the company I am working with now. There are no exploitations. I get to chase my own dreams. What's even better is that I get to know others who have the same dream as me, and we all get along really well. I am very happy."

Apart from working with Hunan TV, Bernice Liu has also worked with Hong Kong's Now TV, Cable TV, Phoenix TV, and has filmed a musical drama, "Fantasy Love Song 201314" with William So for TVB's upcoming rival, HKTV.

After winning the Miss Chinese International crown in 2001, Bernice gained fame through her portrayal as "Princess Sum Tim" in the long-running TVB sitcom, "Virtues of Harmony". Her whirlwind romance with Moses Chan since 2005 hit rock bottom when the media found out about the relationship in early 2011, and was made worse when she was caught on a date with rich heir, Alastair Lam.

The actress stated, "I was young. At the time, everything was just for fun. Now, it's different. I choose this to be my career. I know what it takes to be a public figure, and I know the responsibilities I have."

I started dancing at age 3, and have never thought one day I wouldn't be able to walk." Aimee Chan took part in the Style In Town - Autumn & Winter Fashion Show as a model yesterday. She excitedly said: "There was a time I had no time to do catwalks. While I was studying, I worked as a part-time model, so this time I think it's really fun. I really like to go clothes shopping too and I love to collect antique accessories and clothing, especially those with beads and lace." When asked, if compared to her boyfriend Moses Chan, who likes to look pretty more? Aimee said: "Often times, it's the girl that likes to be pretty. I studied design, so I pay close attention to fashion and the quality. (Do you help Moses dress up?) His fashion taste isn't bad, he doesn't need my help."

Earlier Moses said he doesn't have ex-girlfriend Bernice Liu's phone number anymore, but Aimee kept her mouth shut: "Sorry, I won't answer this question. (Moses already reassured her?) Ding! Next question please. I rather you all place the attention back on The Last Steep Ascent. I have never portrayed a tragic character, so it was a challenge." When asked if Moses gave her advice? Aimee said: "Acting is displayed by the individual. At most, I would discuss with the producer and director."

Bernice Liu had always had a Chinese-looking face, but at a recent event she attended, it was discovered there were drastic changes around her cheek bone. Her face shape turned into a V-shape, with a sharper chin. Yesterday a magazine reported, because Bernice is looking to reconcile with Moses Chan, she has been calling him and madly SMS him. Also, she purposely changed her face shape to resemble Aimee Chan's facial appearance. Additionally, the magazine report said Bernice complained tearfully to Virgina Lok that she wants to come back to TVB. Bernice's manager expressed Bernice will provide an explanation of that magazine report at the event she's attending tomorrow.

It was rumored before that CTI's boss (Ricky Wong) was highly offended by Bernice's 'Pizza Face', so he suggested she get botox to make her face look thinner. However, at the time Bernice denied the rumor, she expressed she likes natural beauty and that her face shape symbolizes who she is, so she had no intention of making any changes.

Bernice used to be the top earning TVB actress, but after she switched over to CTI and started developing in Mainland, she doesn't get paid as well as she used to at events in Hong Kong. However, her jobs in Mainland just keeps coming. Due to this, yesterday a magazine reported that Bernice complained tearfully to Virgina Lok that she wants to come back to TVB, and it was said she wants Moses Chan back too. Unfortunately for her, Moses is developing smoothly with new girlfriend Aimee Chan and has no intention to get back with his ex.

Ex-Boyfriend: Don't Know How to Respond

Also, Moses appeared at Metro radio to do an interview with Nancy Sit. When asked about ex-girlfriend Bernice Liu changing her face to look more like Aimee Chan? Moses expressed: "No comment. I don't know how to respond either! Currently there are a lot of paparazzi following me, but Bernice hasn't contacted me, so the story is not true. I don't know if the other things on the report are true or not, I don't keep in touch with her. (Do you think Bernice really wants to get back with you?) After all, I never received calls or SMS from her. After we split, we haven't kept in touch at all. (Rumored she cried to Virgina Lok wanting to come back to TVB?) I don't know. I don't know if that is true or not. (If you were to collaborate with her again in the future, any embarrassment?) Haha, I don't know how to respond! I know many of our old colleagues have moved over (CTI), I hope they will have a good future."

It was said Bernice saw through Moses' weakness, that he's too soft (gives in), so there is hope that they can start over? Moses immediately rejected, and quickly reassured his current girlfriend Aimee, he said: "I am currently in a comfortable and happy situation. I look forward to the future and hope for a better future. (Reassuring our girlfriend?) Yes. I received everyone's blessings. I will work even harder and hope to bring good news to you all." Moses frankly expressed he doesn't have to comfort Aimee because of that rumor, perhaps its because they have a series airing now, so the news is used to grab some attention. He reiterated that his girlfriend is great and they won't be affected by this rumor. When asked if he Aimee slept on his thigh, like how Tavia Yeung did on Him Law? Moses laughed: "No, haha! I know the magazine asked her to respond too."

Bernice Liu and William So were shooting for CTI's new musical Fairytale Love Song 201314 at Admiralty for a dancing in the rain scene. This was also Bernice's last scene. William said: "Bernice has to get back to Mainland for work." Bernice frankly expressed because she accepted another Mainland drama, she had to finish shooting her scenes first, making William and the rest of the crew shoot day and night. The crew had to complete 40 scenes within a week. Bernice felt really sorry, so she kept treating the crew meals to thank them. She also sweet talked: "William is very attentive, often staying behind to watch my performance on the side and then giving me advice."

However, the staff were pretty hot tempered. CTI's public relations staff allowed the media on the set to interview Bernice and William, but barely 10 minutes into the interview, the staff already started rushing the media out: "Stop blocking us from filming." Then the staff shouted at the CTI PR staff and William had to come in between to stop the two parties. As CTI has not received the free-to-air license from the government, it is unknown when the series can broadcast. William expressed he cannot control that, he can only perform the duties of an artist.

When Sharon, Joe and Bernice saw each other, the three of them couldn't stop chatting. Talking about this trip, Sharon excitedly said "I've accepted this function because I wanted to see Jay Chau. I really like him. We were born on the same year and same month, but sadly a day from each other. When he sings, I'm like a little fan taking pictures singing and dancing". Sharon also revealed that she bought Jay's new dvd hoping he could sign it for her, but sadly she can not go anywhere near him, but hopes one day they could work together and also ask for his autograph.

Whilst Bernice Liu expresses that she likes Show Lo. When she went to Wenzhou she was on the same plane as Show Lo. At first Bernice wanted to take a picture, but Show Lo was tired and Bernice didn't want to disturb him. Mainly filming in mainland, Bernice has been practicing her mandarin with other actors. She hopes to focus more when filming.

Yesterday CTI held a press conference to introduc their three new series - Still Have Time to Love You Again (還來得及再愛你), Amazing Century (驚異世紀) and Fairytale Love Song 201314 (童話戀曲201314). The majority of CTI's artists are made up of former TVB artists including Bernice Liu, Sek Sau, Dominic Lam, Sin Ho Ying, Kwok Fung, Al Wai, Savio Tsang, Chan On Ying. Other artists include Danson Tang, Michelle Wai, Kelvin Kwan, William So and Jason Chan.

Estimated to have 700 employees by year end

CTI chairman Ricky Wong expressed the government is wrapping up with the procedures of issuing him a free-to-air television license. He has confidence he can get the approval for the license and hopes to have stock up on many TV series productions to start the new station. Currently, there are over 300 employees in CTI which includes both artists and behind-the-scenes crew. It is estimated that there will be 700 employees by the end of the year and 100 university graduates have been recruited for training on scriptwriting and directing.

Mr. Wong denied forcing Bernice Liu to get botox because he disliked her wide facial appearance. "Bernice is so beautiful, she makes people drool. Actually I have to get botox." Bernice expressed the topic of her thin face has not stopped since she debuted. Nowadays, she appears to have a chubby face on cameras, Bernice said: "A chubby face is more prosperous!"

William So will be participating in the musical Fairytale Love Song with Bernice and all of his costumes will be from his very own wardrobe: "CTI pays very well. I recommended inviting Mark Lui to produce the music for this musical and got approved. The work hours are comparable to Mainland's standards. There won't be overnight shooting. Ricky Wong's only requirement is that we are not allowed to be late."

Danson and Michelle are currently shooting for Still Have Time to Love You Again. The two had a kiss scene, and Danson asked the director on how the style of Hong Kong kisses are like? In the end, they decided on a "passionate kiss with movement". As the filming times goes until 3am, the two are still in their dreams, but there was feelings of embarrassment.

Noel Leung will be in the thriller Amazing Century, a story made up of several separate stories. She will go from 18 to 80 years old in the series, having 9 roles. "I have 9 husbands in the series, including Kwok Fung, Felix Lok and Lawrence Chow. Our bed scenes are kissing as we remove our clothes." Noel expressed she can go fully nude on her back, but that may be beyond the scope of television. Asked if her husband Gary Chan allows her to do so? "The media is stricter than my family!"

Debuted through the Miss Chinese International Pageant, Bernice Liu steps into her 11th year in the industry. Her rumors weren't considered many, counting back to the earliest rumor was with Hawick Lau and in 2005 with Moses Chan after Love Bond. However, the most annoying rumor was that she dumped Moses for young businessman Alastair Lam last year. Because of her waist injury, she was faced with a major surgery and had no mood to handle all the rumors.

Takes her life while she's sick

When the Bernice and Moses breakup was mentioned in the interview, Bernice was very surprised: "I was really disturbed at the time. Since 2005, the rumors with Moses started, and since then the dating and breakup rumors came continuously. Later it was said I was dating Alastair Lam and even dumped Moses for him. There was a lot of negative news, I really didn't know how to handle it all! On top of that, my body just had to sound the alarm at that same time. When I was laying in the hospital bed facing a major surgery, he just had to announce 'the past is the past' to describe our relationship. Honestly, at the time I was really shocked. First off, he and I never admitted that we dated, so why was he saying that? But, that time I was too busy to go deal with it. I was in fact more worried about my surgery, whether if I could stand up and walk again after the surgery."

Keep the happy memories

During the time Bernice was in the hospital, Moses never once visited her. This unilateral breakup announcement happened while she was bed-ridden. She didn't have the strength to feel heartbroken, she said: "Actually, we haven't kept in touch, but that's not important! Even if that's the case, I won't be disappointed with this person because each individual have different ways of doing things and different views. The most important is to have self-respect. (How would you describe your relationship with him?) On-screen couple. The happy moments, I will keep in my memories. (A couple with Alastair Lam?) No! (Pursuer?) Haha! You should ask him. Actually he's not married, I'm not married, meeting up for dinner is a very normal thing."

Wants to have 7 Kids

Bernice said: "I am still longing to be in a relationship, just my mentality differs from when I was in my early 20s. The only stubbornness I have is, the status is given to the woman by the man. When I was young, dating could be about mutual feelings, but now I have to be a little more practical. I will think more of the future, and will fulfill all the duties of a mother after marriage, have children and have hopes that my future spouse will have the same idea. Growing up in a traditional family, I want to have 7 kids because I love a lively atmosphere, but I believe by that time I'll have to find a really big place to be able to give my children enough space. Canada isn't a bad choice and besides the living expenses isn't too high to raise children there!"

Hong Kong actress Maggie Cheung was said to be unhappy with the latter for enjoying similar treatment despite her seniority.

Hong Kong businessman Ricky Wang recently set up a new broadcasting company that is set to rival against Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB), and brought along with him popular actors and actresses like Felix Wong, Maggie Cheung, Frankie Lam and Bernice Liu.

At the groundbreaking ceremony of the new company last Friday, tensions were high at the event as actress Bernice Liu and Maggie Cheung were spotted giving each other the cold shoulder.
Maggie was allegedly poached to join the new company at a skyrocket price. Another actress who will enjoy such prestige will be Charmaine Sheh, who is also set to join the line-up.

According to reports, the reason for Maggie's hostility was due to fellow actress Bernice Liu, who despite being ditched by TVB last year, was signed on and given similar treatment in the new company.
On the day of the event, Maggie looked displeased as she stood next to Bernice on stage, and refused to make eye contact or any form of handshake with the latter.
At the media interviews later, Maggie proceeded to sit at the back rows despite being arranged to sit in front with Bernice.

"It is better not go over there, there's too much negative energy.... I really don't understand... (She had) such poor acting skills!" Maggie was overheard muttering, as she made her way behind.

Hong Kong actress Bernice Liu's dream of marrying into a rich family was reportedly dashed after businessman Alastair Lim dumped her.

In a bid to regain her popularity, Bernice attempted to tarnish ex-boyfriend and actor Moses Chen's reputation but the move only backfired.
Bernice's woes continue when she was dropped by TVB. This after the actress distanced herself from TVB senior executive Stephen Chan when he was taken to court. She was seen as ungrateful as she had been one of Stephen's favourite artistes.

After Bernice left TVB, other broadcast stations in Hong Kong refused to sign her on as their artist. In the end, the 33-year-old was forced to lower her asking price and successfully won a part in period drama Mystery in the Palace

While her co-star Kevin Cheng was paid HK$250,000 (S$40,440) per episode, Bernice received HK$30,000 (S$4,900) per episode, for a minor supporting role.
After filming for the drama wrapped, the actress had only a handful of jobs during the Christmas and Lunar New Year peak season.

Suffering setbacks in both her career and love life, Bernice has reportedly given up hope and is staying at home, resulting in her gaining weight. She was recently spotted on the streets of Central Hong Kong alone, looking down and haggard.

Bernice Liu just released her fourth book From Macbailey, With Love. Each time she launches a new book, she would give the proceeds to charity and this time, she selected the 'Children's Critical Care Fund'. On January 20th, Bernice arrived at Queen Mary Hospital to visit the young patients there and gave out gifts.

That day, Bernice visited a 3 year old girl named Tse Chi Wai. Little Tse is a beneficiary of the 'Children's Critical Care Fund' suffering from Thalassemia (inherited blood disorder), but has already got a bone marrow transplant. Bernice gave her new clothes as a gift to the little girl and promised to bring her 4 'Dog Doctors' to visit her if there is an opportunity. The little girl was extremely happy.

During the visit, Bernice coincidentally encountered a young girl coming in for her follow-up visit. The young girl was Bernice's junior from the dance school she used to go to. They've taken pictures together before at the school's celebration event. That day, the girl greeted Bernice and was very grateful to have had the chance to take a picture with her. Bernice encouraged her to stay strong and defeat her illness, there will definitely be a chance for her to dance again.

Bernice personally loves children, and hopes to have a some of her own after marriage. Unfortunately, there is temporarily no chance for that yet, but she smiled and said she will continue to work at it. This year she will have to take good care of her health and practice her Mandarin to break into the Mainland market.

On the 28th day of the Lunar calender (1/21), the Chinese tradition is to do a house sweep to welcome the new year, which has implications of out with the old and in with the new. As a pet owner, Bernice Liu is very busy, taking her two dogs to the pet beauty salon for a nice bath and dress up in hope for a prosperous upcoming Dragon year.

Bernice owns a house full of poodles, as Chinese New Year approaches each year, she must put in great effort in making her dogs look pretty. Her poodles undergoes a rather complex bath consisting of fur cutting and other beauty treatments. Bernice gives this responsibility to a pet beauty salon to help dress her dogs up. However, today she helps Latte and Kahlua brush their fur, massage and dresses them up herself.

Bernice laughed: "In the past, I personally knit my dogs winter clothing, but this year I tailored a set of Chinese-styled clothing for them. Earlier, I also made arrangements to take a set of Chinese New Year photos with my dogs to keep for memories, its so cute! The set of photos will be used for the cover of my pet book releasing after the new year."

In the previous years, Bernice spent the new year working at TVB. However, this year since she left TVB, she plans to work in Mainland and may not have the opportunity to bring her dogs along to send new year greetings. She smiled: "Among the 7 dogs I have, two of them are dog father and mother, and had a formal wedding banquet too. So, I will give out red envelopes on their behalf to my niece." With a Western girl personality, Bernice had been developing in Hong Kong for several years and have become more and more traditional. For the new year, she does all the lucky things that traditional Chinese people do on new years, except for taking a bath with pomelo leaves ('luk yau yip') and wearing a red underwear. At home she would put fresh flowers, Chinese New Year cake and a symbol of the five blessings. When speaking of her new year wish? Bernice hopes for a smooth career and good health. She expressed since she signed with a new management company, she probably would be focused more on the Mainland market in the future, so she will have to work really hard to learn Mandarin. She expects to expand her horizons and collaborate with different actors and singers.

As far as Bernice Liu is concerned, the most fearful thing is when the elders back in her hometown ask of her rumors. Bernice frankly said she has been asked by the elders living in her hometown when she'll be getting married, but she directly told them she had other plans.

Although Bernice has a Western character, when it comes to marriage, she is extremely longing for it: "I have thought before if I'm married, will I retire from showbiz? I think what I really can't put down is children, I love children and if I do have children myself, I will definitely leave this industry. I hope to concentrate on my children and watch them grow. (Have you thought of blind dates?) I don't know! I may even do a lightning marriage, but definitely will notify my parents. I won't just flash away like that!"

Bernice said without hiding that she originally planned to be married 8 years ago: "I initially planned to be married by age 24, but it's long past now! My next check point? Not set, everyone (people in hometown) ask me when, but I have no pressure, just focusing on looking after my dogs at home. In fact, the people at my hometown all care about my health more than the rumors. I feel they really do have the humanity, so I tell myself I cannot forget my roots. The entertainment business can easily turn you into a materialistic person. As long as you don't forget your roots, then you cannot become materialistic. In the past, each year during this time, I would be bombarded by questions regarding the TVB anniversary, but now I can do the things I like to do, return to my hometown and charity work."

Since Bernice Liu's fierce break up with Moses Chan last year and got together with the wealthy Alastair Lam, it was recently rumored that Alastair has been repeatedly trying to pursue Jacquelin Chong. The other night, the two 'Alastair girls' Bernice and Jacquelin attended separate events.

The 'outdated' Bernice and Kevin Cheng attend a film premiere last night. Bernice revealed she had not kept in touch with Alastair for a period of time, but later she will be collaborating with him in a charity. Towards the rumors between ex-lover Alastair and Jacquelin? She said: "I don't read the news, but I don't get into his private life. (Jacqueline implied you two already broke up?) I don't know. (If they really are dating?) I will congratulate them."

As for the 'current' Jacquelin, she attended a watch event and expressed choosing a watch is like choosing a boyfriend, have to have both the outside (appearance) and inside (character). When asked if Alastair has the inside? She said: "Yeah, he's pretty OK on the outside too. (You can date him?) How can it be that easy? (What is missing?) The feeling, and many other factors. (Is he pursuing you?) That's hard to answer, you ask him."

Bernice Liu and TVB ended their 10 year relationship. Before leaving, Bernice complained after her injury and surgery, TVB still told her to go out on business trips. Yesterday TVB executive Virgina Lok responds: "If she feels wronged or uncomfortable, she can leave. Her development outside is doing pretty ok." Virgina said it was a peaceful ending of the relationship with Bernice, many artists don't renew their management contracts, but still maintain cooperative relations with TVB.

As to Bernice expressing TVB didn't consider her hand injury and surgery, and still wanted her to go on business trips? Virgina said Bernice's hospitalization was kept secret, and that is to respect her wish. That day, she was scheduled to go to Singapore for work with Roger Kwok, but she couldn't go and TVB took that into consideration.

In the recent year, Bernice's image is not like before, is it because of that reason that she couldn't stay? Virgina said she talked to Bernice a lot over this, TVB is not selfish. In the recent year, many artists are heading up north for work, she just wants more room for outside development. As to Bernice's exposure that she already broke up with Moses Chan in 2008, but she also indirectly accused Aimee Chan of being the third party? Miss Lok expressed modern love, personal relationships, if they break up or not, TVB does not interfere.

Last October, Bernice Liu was spotted on a date with young rich businessman Alastair Lam, ditching her 6 year "secret" relationship with Moses Chan and since then she was labeled as "the material girl". Moses, on the other hand, got sympathy from the public and was named the "best deal" in the industry. Soon after, dating rumors started between Moses and Aimee Chan, which got blessings from everyone. At this time, Bernice could not tolerate it anymore and hinted Aimee was the third party. Surrounded by negative publicity, Bernice reveals for the first time on Mingpao Magazine that she and Moses were already broken up in 2008. She also talks about ending her 10 year relationship with TVB.

Bernice did not mention the reason for their breakup, but she expressed that when the two developed to a certain stage, she asked herself if this is the person she truly loves? Can they be together for the rest of their lives? After the break up three years ago, the two continued working as a couple team because they were still under a contract, TVB instructed them to and she is still friends with Moses after all. Still friends with Moses? She said: "No matter if its work or relationship, I want to keep the beautiful memories. Of course we are friends." However, towards Moses' comment earlier that the "the past is the past" and he didn't announce that they were already separated, causing the public to misunderstand her, Bernice felt a little disappointed.

Bernice decided to leave TVB because she never got an award in the 10 years she been with them. Also, last time when she was filming series she sprained her waist and still had to continue shooting and flying all over the place. It was until Lunar New Years when she couldn't stand it anymore and couldn't get on the plane. When she got back to the company, she unexpectedly heard someone doubting her "Is she playing games?" This made Bernice's heart ached. She was asked if this sped up her decision to leave? She said: "That made me think clearly, I’m not going to kill my hard work.” Despite this, Bernice expressed: "Well I do have to thank TVB, if it weren't for them there would not be that many people that know me today."

In fact, the two girls have relations, it was said Viann once said Bernice is greedy for money. Yesterday reporters raise the topic again, Bernice expressed she does not know. On the other side, Viann explained she has never said that, she said: "That day reporters asked me about my future. I said I wanted it to be simple. (Meaning you are not greedy for money?) I am, but I don't know how to spend it!"

Just came back from Russia, Bernice frankly said she has not followed with Moses Chan and Aimee Chan's recent news and that she does not keep in touch with Moses. She said: "I am just doing my own thing. (Congratulate them?) I will, it is something happy. Everyone hopes to have someone by their side in the end, I am the same for the future." Also, she expressed she does not have a boyfriend and is friends with Alastair Lam. She is working hard on her jobs and implied their relationship is the past.

Bernice Liu attended a hair show in a new hairstyle. She expressed she got her hair cut 4-5 inches short and is easier to maintain. She also reveals that she went to France earlier and will be going to Russia soon to shoot for a TV program and participate in a global large-scale event.

When speaking of the poor public safety in Russia, Bernice said: "I'm going with a group of people, it's a large-scale event, should be ok. I want to see historical buildings in the local area and taste their red wine. I am very interested in red wine, and really like to drink them. Three years ago, I started saving beautiful red wines as an investment. (How much did you profit?) I didn't sell them, I have to sell them in order to earn profit. I also have my own wine in the chateau I hired to help me ferment in the U.S and France. I designed the name of the red wine myself, and will not sell it. I made this wine not for money, but just hope to share it with my friends or maybe use it for charity. The red wine I made is priceless."

Bernice Liu, Sire Ma, Pierre Ngo and Moses Chan attended a dinner banquet at Causeway Bay last night. It was said that Moses Chan implied Bernice shouldn't try to start something behind his back while he's not in HK. Bernice responded: "I'm not sure if he's in HK or not. (You implied Aimee Chan was the third person?) I never said that, I cannot control what people write. (Call Moses to explain?) Not necessary, I believe he won't say such thing either. (Then will you congratulate Moses and Aimee?) I am not responding to other people's issues."
