Elaine Yiu, Evergreen Mak and TVB Variety/Non-Drama executive producer Ms. Yu Wing Shan attended the press conference of new TVB lifestyle entertainment show (不得了人才招募). Elaine will soon be starting new series A Good Heart Goes Haywire with Bosco Wong. Because Elaine is a close friend of Myolie Wu, it was said she badmouthed Bosco and treated him poorly. Elaine said: "Bosco never flirted with me, I'm such good friends with Myolie, he wouldn't do that to me. (Do you think they should reconcile?) I think Myolie treats Bosco very well, let's see if Bosco will come back to Myolie, but she also has many to choose from, the forest is so big."

Ms. Yu reveals TVB will be investing more than HK$40 million on production costs. She said: "For this show, we'll be going around the world to interview not very known celebrities on their lifestyles. We're also recruiting Miss Chinese International from around the world to help us host the show and hope to ask wealthy young generations to participate as well. My personal choice is Real Ting."

It was said the recent Amazing Summer show TV Funny ('Fun Three 1/2 Weeks') was a 100% copy of American shows? Ms. Yu said: "The show may not be 100% original, but there were many different parts in 15 episodes. If we're going to pick one part to criticize, then that's not fair."

In a blink of an eye, TVB 'little FaDan' Elaine Yiu is entering her 10th year in the industry. What hasn't changed is her baby face, but what has changed is her acting has matured. We see that there are more and more new talents bouncing out behind her, but Elaine remains calm: "Love and career are the same, can be found but not sought!"

Elaine entered the industry 10 years ago, by her young and pure look, she was casted in several young idol series or roles as the younger sisters. In 2006, she was offered the lead actress role in Safe Guards co-starring Steven Ma. It was then when people started noticing her. Last year she participated in the average-rated series Bottled Passion, and got favorable criticism: "There were many people around me that told me I did very well. The series had a lot of sentimental scenes that had to be expressed from within the heart. The script was written very well, so I was able to easily get into character." In the series, she sacrificed everything because she loved Raymond Wong's role. As a Scorpio, Elaine is the same in real life, she is willing to sacrifice everything for love: "Sometimes acting is similar to life. Life is an experience. I've been emotionally hurt before too, so when there are areas of similarities in the role, it would be easier for me to act it out. Some of the dialogue, I was able to easily grasp the feeling." Elaine disclosed over a year ago, she went through a very profound relationship, but there was nothing that could be done to move forward, so it ended in a break up. Later, she couldn't focus on work, but after getting through that stage, she felt she was really stupid. Looking back, she feels the most important is her own feelings.

"Jump Off A Building" A Breakthrough

Elaine is naturally born with baby face, until today she still plays a lot of pitiful young girl roles, but didn't know she could be so bad! This year in the new series Policewoman's Love Battlefield, she plays a foolish woman: "Perhaps I look pitiful. Before, I always get those roles that gets bullied, but this time it's a breakthrough. They told me I had to be a crazy woman, it's quite challenging actually because there is no definition of crazy, it is boundless!" Elaine's role is a tragic character, she will be putting things on fire, playing with rats, jumping from buildings, burning cars... her personality is extreme. The disorder brings out the problems in society, she smiled and said her costume really stands out and it cannot be tied to the word "beauty" at all. However, the most challenging is that she had to play with rats: "I'm really afraid of rats! When I was shooting the scene, I had to hold the rat too! I was still really frightened after shooting that scene."

Take it seriously, no more 'playing'

In a blink of an eye, Elaine had filmed 20+ series over the 10 years she's been in the industry. She slowly turned her interest in acting into a career. From the beginning when she thought of acting was just for fun, but now she will put efforts into studying her roles and learn by interactions. She will no longer use the attitude of "play" to go handle acting. Instead, she replaces the playful attitude with a professional one. She takes it in the form of a serious pondering style: "In the past, I never thought that much when I'm acting. I just thought it was really fun, but now I have another type of experience, I want to really put my heart into shooting each and every series, shoot a good series and really do well on the role. It's a great sense of achievement, makes me very happy and I can get more into my work!" Earlier she collaborated with TV King Wayne Lai in new series The King Makers, she was very grateful of his advice: "He taught me what acting is, and even talked a little bit about his life experiences. Acting is not about following some method because then it won't have substance. I had a lot of scenes opposite of Wayne, he helped me analyze, like for example there was one scene where I had to be able express the emotions with rhythm, can really push up the feelings!"

The wave behind pushes the wave ahead. The rising 'little FaDan', Mandy Wong is a good example as she recently gained popularity after her role as Kwan Yee So in L'Escargot. Elaine believed that everything is about the right timing: "For example, the broadcast periods of the two series and L'Escargot initially was a more superior series. Some things, you have to slowly save up. I really want to be like Mandy Wong too, having a role that helps me gain popularity, but if it's not yours, then there is no way you can force it!" At the moment, Elaine's favorite performance is the one in Bottled Passion. The happiest is that her family supports her by tuning in every night, and that is a great source of encouragement for her.

She said: "I didn't have to wear a mini skirt, but one time a foreigner touched my PatPat (butt), after touching he was even smiling!" In TVB series Bottled Passion, Elaine Yiu's performance can be clearly seen on the front line. Although the series is only getting average ratings, viewers are praising Elaine endlessly. She personally feels Bottled Passion is a turning point in her acting career as well, since she left a deep impression on viewers. This is one of the roles she is most satisfied with, she said: "In fact my role is quite similar to myself. I am cold on the outside, but hot on the inside, so the acting went a lot smoother. Tim Gor has his vision when choosing this role for me." In the series, Elaine gave up everything because she loved Raymond Wong, but later she realized her lover is wholeheartedly cheating her. She said: "In the past, I would purposely do something to make my other half happy, like making soup in the late nights, just because I want him to be happy."

Currently single, Elaine previously caught the flower bouquet at Koni Lui's wedding. Asked if she's in a rush to marry someone? She laughed: "I actually want to have children more than get marry. Women has their physiologic restrictions when it comes to having babies, and I really like children, so I may not get marry first and then have children. I may even do a lightning marriage. However, right now I don't want to marry yet, haven't met the right person yet." Elaine frankly said she does have a pursuer now, but it is still in the observation phase, she said: "Right now, the guys that I encounter are often younger than me. I hope my other half is older than me because they will have their life experiences and know how to take care of people. I anticipate for my Mr. Right to appear someday."

Also, Elaine just finished shooting The King Makers and had a lot of scenes opposite of Wayne Lai. Because of the pressure, she got thinner and thinner, she said: "I put the pressure upon myself, I hope to do better, so whatever questions I have, I ask Wayne. I really thank him for all his advices, I learned a lot from him this time around."

Elaine Yiu recently appeared in new series Can't Buy Me Love portraying as a prostitute. Depending on her beauty, she attracts Moses Chan. She laughed: "I am Moses dream lover and his life savor, so he has a natural good feeling towards me." Elaine's beauty not only is necessary for the series, but also in real life she's getting prettier and prettier.

Recently she was accused of getting bigger eyes, her nose bridge straighter and that her facial structure became sharper. Although she's suspected of getting plastic surgery, she still responded generously: "I am not upset, I actually think its really funny, I don't understand why people are talking about it now, it's been a while since I got prettier. Actually, when I first debuted I still had the baby fat. Now I really lost weight, which of course is a breakthrough, plus now that there is such great techniques for make-up, putting on fake eyelashes and making my eyes look bigger is really interesting."
Plastic surgery is getting more and more common, Elaine felt that it's nothing wrong, she said: "Actually plastic surgery is not as serious as how everyone makes it out to be. It is pretty common in Korea and Japan. One of my relatives even allowed their children to go do plastic surgery too. To an extent, being in this industry, it's all about the outer appearance that will please audience. You get talked about if your not pretty or if you get plastic surgery, it's really hard to satisfy everyone. I feel that if it's not harming others, doing something that you want, I am not going to oppose." She also praised Jacqueline Chong's courage, Elaine said: "She's really brave, having to face everyone pointing fingers at her, it requires lots of courage, but getting a boob job, I really am not brave enough to do it."

Also, Elaine recently did a Thailand food and drink special, and had to eat 5 meals a day. She was also able to experience the amazing local boxing matches. She said: "The adults were fighting until blood is seen, 10 year old children were also fighting pretty hard. I didn't dare to watch it."

Recently Netizens discovered that Lau Dan's son Hawick Lau got a huge appearance makeover, besides his eyes being bigger, his nose is straighter, almost like a Raymond Lam copy. A Siu Sang needs a change, let alone a Fadan who likes to be pretty! Lately the media discovered that the two TVB Fadans Fala Chen and Kate Tsui silently changed. Fala's chin got a sharper chin, while Kate's got a higher nose bridge. Even Dr. Reborn professional cosmetic surgery center assistant GM Emily Yau said: "Clearly different!" after seeing the two photos. In addition, Elaine Yiu underwent a face change to get up top. In 2004, her eyes were small, big and flat nose, and her appearance is not outstanding at all. She currently has bigger eyes and a more upright nose, looks like two different people. Emily said: "Not only does she (Elaine) have a higher nose bridge, her eye shape has changed as well, her chin looks inconsistent, looks very different from before."

The media looked back at Fala Chen's photos and discovered that since her debut in 2005's MCI until now, in 5 years, there is a 3 times difference in her chin. Her short and small chin became 'sharp sharp sharp' in 2007.

As for Kate Tsui, 6 years ago when she debuted, her nose bridge was not as defined, but in recent years she has a much higher nose and straighter nose bridge.

Fala angered by plastic surgery rumors

Last Saturday when Fala attended the Can't Buy Me Love press conference, the media asked about the strange sharper chin change, once she heard this she was angry: "Now what? It was already said before that I got plastic surgery to look like this, and said that I got a boob job, now trying to say that I did a chin job too! Before when I accepted a skincare advertisement, are you all trying to stop me from earning money. I rather you write about my rumors than accusing me of plastic surgery." Then she walked over to Charmaine Sheh and continued to throw a tantrum: "Write about Charmaine and I being lesbians, stupid!"

Currently in Mainland, Kate has not responded. As for Elaine Yiu, all she said was "Not responding."
