Selena Li has been the spokesperson for a skincare brand for 3 years. Yesterday she puts on a yellow tanktop to shoot a commercial for the brand. She frankly expressed she gets a raise each year and is very pleased with the amount. When speaking of her skincare experiences, Selena expressed she's afraid of getting a tan because her skin gets dry and she'll look older. Selena said: "I apply skincare products on my face each morning and night. During the day, I would put sunscreen on and moisturizers to prevent sunburns. Otherwise, I could easily get spots on my hands. In the evening, I put on body lotion after taking a shower and every week I scrub off the dead skin and then put skin moisturizer for better absorption."

Currently on vacation, Selena will be back to shoot a TVB costume drama in May, so she has to really work out and start stretching her muscles. "I have a dance background, if I need to do action scenes, I want to do them myself. Stretches need to be done over a period of time, so I'm just preparing early."

Kenneth Ma, Selena Li and Katy Kung attended an event in Ho Man Tin. As Patrick Tang's ex-girlfriends, Selena and Katy were not embarrassed to be at the same event at all. Selena even took her rumor with Kenneth out to joke with, she laughed: "My fans said Kenneth is the 'Best Deal' (suen poon) and told us to start dating. I told Kenneth if we're still single 50 years later, then we'll get married!"

Katy joined in on the fun and laughed she thinks Kenneth is the 'Best Deal' too. She exposed Kenneth asked for her phone number: "He told me to tell you all that he just got my phone number. We've known each other for a long time though." Earlier good friend Elaine Yiu made an innuendo about Patrick and rumored girlfriend Kayi Cheung to defend Katy. Elaine said Patrick liked to 'cut steak'. Katy said: "She (Elaine) has a very good character, we are very good friends. Thank her for trying to defend me. (Do you know if Patrick is in a relationship?) We don't keep in touch, I don't know."

Just over two years ago, Selena Li broke up with Patrick Tang and has had many pursuers since then. Often times, reporters catch her out late partying with male companions. Lately, she has been busy promoting for TVB new series The Confidant. Yesterday afternoon at around 4pm, she finally had some free time. She was spotted driving her fire red car to Central and then to Hollywood Road. When she stopped the car, a tall gentleman came out from the passenger side of the car. The man was dressed in a black shirt and jeans. He walked into a restaurant.

Selena waited for her new male partner to walk into the restaurant, but she was stalling inside her car. To avoid pictures taken of them together, Selena deliberately made it seem like they arrived separately. Soon after, Selena got out of the car and quickly walked into the restaurant. The two had afternoon tea in the upper floor at the restaurant instead of the bottom floor, so they could romantically enjoy their meal and chat peacefully. They spent one and a half hours just for afternoon tea.

At around 5pm, the two continued to be cautious and careful. Again, they walked out of the restaurant separately. Selena came down the stairs first and was immediately greeted by camera flashes. She was startled and appeared embarrassed, but she quickly recovered and hand gestures the "V" sign for the pictures.

She then called her male partner and told him about the reporters. To avoid being in the 'same car' and having their intimate relationship exposed, Selena did not hesitate to ditch her male partner and drove off without him.

Reporters later contacted Selena, she said over the phone that the male partner was a friend whom she had known for many years. "He came from Shanghai for a day, so I took him out for coffee! (Boyfriend?) How can there be so many boyfriends? He is just a friend whom I've known for many years. That day, I saw you all taking pictures, so I called and told him about it. I even apologized to him that he got on the newspapers."

Selena Li, Ruco Chan and Lee Yee Man had their end-of-filming celebration in Cheung Chau for the new TVB series Love Exceeds the Coastline they collaborated on. TVB executive deputy chairman, Dr. Norman Leung, made a special trip to visit them. Norman also hosted an eight table banquet at a hotel treating the cast and crew seafood and celebrated Ram Chiang and Cilla Lok's birthdays. The local residents were welcomed into the banquet as well.

Selena, Ruco and Lee Yee Man were rumored in a love triangle after shooting series, but Selena admitted to defeat. She said the rumor started because she randomly sat in Ruco's seat, but then she praised Ruco that he's clever and professional. On the other hand, Ruco was rather embarrassed and made it clear that it is impossible for him to develop a relationship with Selena or Lee Yee Man. He said: "It's me that is not good, I believe they can find better boyfriends."

Norman expressed he paid for the banquet all because of Selena's one comment. He said: "I made a special trip back to HK from Mainland. I've lived in Cheung Chau for 18 years, aside from this place being my ancestral hometown, Cheung Chau is my second home and gives me a good feeling. Earlier I heard Selena say she's shooting Cheung Chau, but never tried the fish balls and seafood here, so I volunteered to host this feast." Selena blushed when her colleagues all thanked her for the seafood feast, and felt the real person they should thank was Dr. Norman Leung.

Yesterday Kenneth Ma and Selena Li were dressed in wedding clothing and attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony of JUST GOLD's new store opening as a 'couple team'. Kenneth also followed what the event organizers asked him to and proposed to Selena with a 2 karat diamond ring. He expressed jewelry accessories are gifts he usually gives his female friends. Selena, who was standing besides him, said she never got any from him and told Kenneth to give her the 2 karat diamond ring on her hand. However, when he found out the ring costs over HK$400,000, he thought it was too expensive. Kenneth said: "I'll give the ring to her when she marries me, but if I have to spend HK$400,000 to get a wife, then that's not worth it. (Pursue Selena?) It's hard, she got too many pursuers." He denied that he's thinking of pursuing ex-girlfriend Nancy Wu: "Never thought about it, we are happy as friends." Kenneth expressed he has never purchased couple's matching rings before. He has only bought necklaces and bracelets for his past girlfriends.

Selena expressed she has never got a diamond ring before: "My ex-boyfriends never gave me one. My wealthier friends won't just give me a ring out of the blue. Also I think if I were to accept a ring as a gift, there would be great consequences, so I won't just accept rings."

TVB artists Selena Li and Leanne Li did a catwalk for a wedding dress show. Selena expressed her injustice, she said: "The reports are always saying I have a boyfriend, that really affects me. now no guy dares to come near me. I want to stress here that I am a 100% single, I don't have a boyfriend. My requirements for a boyfriend is I hope he is filial, ambitious, loves me, good character, taller and smarter than me. This Princess fell into difficulty early, she had troubles, but there was nowhere she could complain. "Turns out it is a good thing."

That's considered a good thing? "I am not considered close with my parents. They got an divorced, but that wasn't a bolt from the blue. I've been living like a poor person since youth. My father went bankrupted, but that had limited impact on our everyday functioning. That's not considered good? At the end of the world, bad things, will become a good thing." Selena sounds like she's using the promotional tactics of an insurance agent.

Taking a Position

"My mother was frugal, but my father was the compete opposite. He knew his children didn't have money to use in Toronto, so he would secretly send each of us 1,000CAD on a monthly basis." Over HK$7,000 a month, take that to buy an air ticket to participate in Miss Hong Kong!

At the university in Toronto, Selena studied accounting. Ideally, she would have been working at one of the Big Four accounting firms for a few years and then consider getting her CPA, then take over on her father's business. Business students would be the deputy chairperson and then keep moving up from there, paving their future. Just because she was greedy for that one air ticket, she suddenly left to go participate in Miss Hong Kong before she graduates. "That year (2003), I got to travel to Phuket, Thailand and get a free air ticket to Hong Kong." From Toronto to Phuket, the journey was indeed a long one.

During the first round of the contest, I won Miss Talent and Miss Photogenic. Then I thought, even if I don't get first place, at least I could get first or second runner-up. In the finals, I got nothing. "That was a huge impact on me, and I started crying instantly. I wanted to fly back to Canada right away. Unexpectedly, I didn't have to be a goodwill ambassador because I didn't have the crown and I had lots of time, which actually gave me the most opportunities to shoot series." Another bad thing, turned into a good thing for Selena.

That year, the top 3 Miss Hong Kong were Mandy Cho (winner), Rabee'a Yeung (first runner-up) and Priscilla Chi (second runner-up).

"The first two years, I was already the second lead actress and was full of hopes. Looking at the people around me, who moved up as fast as I did? I was so busy, I didn't get any sleep, but I was happy."

Selena thought she had a rapid rise, but in the following years, she became unstable. Sometimes she was a supporting role, other times she was a guest star and sometimes it seems she was back as the second lead actress. The rapid rise, it belongs to someone else.

"I never had a stabled position. I don't know where TVB will put me, I feel so lost. Sometimes, I would think of my classmates, some majored in finance and are making a lot of money. I can say I have pretty good grades, and I'm willing to work, and I'm kind of pretty, if I was on another side, I may get a higher return. This is destiny."

Life's Project

In 2005, Selena met Patrick Tang while shooting series. "When we were dating, I often complained to him, I have series coming out every year, but I will never get the awards. What elements am I missing? Is it because I really have to rely on relationships to get something?"

The so-called 'destiny', two years after Selena entered the industry, her father went bankrupted. If he was bankrupted two years earlier or maybe never even encountered bankruptcy, Selena would have definitely had different plans.

"My father's bankruptcy was a great impact on me mentally, I had no longer had anyone to depend on. In the past, I had broad and high aims because I clearly knew that after all the struggles, no matter how bad the situation might be, I will still have my family as backup. After the bankruptcy, there was nothing left. If it was over for me, then it would be completely over. It is very very different."

A disappointed person ploughes into an 'atomic bomb' break up with Patrick Tang around the same time. "I'm a person that puts love in first place, it is everything. I still believe the Disney fairytales. I pursue a profound, passionate and perfect romance."

"When I first started dating him, I was feeling very down. He was on standby and always came to comfort me. Spiritually, he has helped me a lot. This relationship, in that instant, it was amazing! It was just impossible to keep for long. During the period of being passionately in love, one is so blind that no problems can be seen. As time passes, we get used to it and become lazy to contribute any further to the relationship. To maintain a relationship, it is a project of a lifetime."

The two dated for 5 years and broke up. Since then, Selena's career development has been on the rise again. Could it be that there is another reverse of fortune? "Was my work affected when I was with him? I don't know. I just know that when there's negative news, I won't feel like he was the one that dragged me down."

Cheat

In Gloves Come Off, Selena takes on the lead actress role fair and square. "In the recent two years, my position has stablized. My confidence has increased, but actually it wasn't too bad before either. If I tell people I had bad accomplishments, then I would definitely get scolded to death."

A fairytale love story will eventually come to an end, so why not just do a little planning. Selena's latest rumored partner is Tony Cruz's son and she got him after fighting with her good friend. His qualifications are outstanding comparing to her on-screen partners like Kevin Cheng or Kenneth Ma.

"I cannot eliminate the wealthy, but all of my ex-boyfriends, not one of them had a wealthy background. A rich boy, who does not depend on his father to give him shade and goes out to make his own living, I will really admire him. At the same time, I also understand, they only have the courage to do so because they know well in their hearts that they have unlimited backup support. That is the same as the old me. So, must cherish everything. When there is no support, it is often associated with greater resonance. From my experience, the majority of wealthy sons have very different system of values than me. Basically, we can't commuicate at all, so how can we be together?"

Selena does not ask for much when choosing a partner, she just hopes her boyfriend is smarter than she is and is faithful. "The real world is very gray. I've seen too many people that have a girlfriend, but then have another girl. I believe there is retribution. I would never cheat someone and I believe there is the same type of man out there."

In Hong Kong? Hahaha. "I will want to meet those who came from overseas more. They are not biased, and won't think all artists are just money hungry and want sexual relations."

Wait

Depending on others, why not just depend on yourself. Selena is currently 31 years old. "After my father's bankruptcy, I don't have enough sense of secruity. I watched my parents divorce, and that made me understand even more that relationships can change anytime. Women must not depend on men, must be capable to make her own living."

Back then, Selena gave up on her education for the Miss HK beauty contest, and ultimately after 6 years, she took a 4 month long break to fulfill her wish in Toronto.

"In reality, my degree is useless now." Unfortunately in the four month break, she met a friend in the beauty and makeup industry. When she got back to HK, she started her beauty school business. "I wasn't planning to retire from the entertainment industry and switch to doing business. Although, it's comforting to have another backup profession. It turns out, a person cannot do two things at once. Taking advantage of my fame to do business, the money can be easily earned. Whatever business you have, you will definitely be the public's target. Affecting my personal image may not necessarily be worth it. Results, I would just hit a dead end on both ends (as an actress and businesswoman)."

"Too many people like to complain and make small matters into a big deal. What is better than attacking an artist? If the company boss wasn't me, would it be on A1 (headlines)?"

Why not ponder over the positive side of this. Before being on A1, perhaps audience would still have a vague impression on Selena, one scandal can really deepen our memory.

"What's the point of being on one newspaper? In this industry, fame is to be accumulated slowly. Wayne Lai has been enduring for over 20 years before becoming popular. I've entered this industry, don't know how it's going to be like, and so I would hypnotize myself to continue to wait on."

Move Out

Selena and Patrick will soon be playing as a couple in their new series. What a joke, but what can she do, they are both working under the same company. It is hard to avoid bumping into each other.

"It's the past. Women are very strange, haven't moved out, kicked him out the door and he would still crawl back into the house. It was rumored Selena Li is involved in Mona Ch'ng and horse trainer Tony Cruz's son (Sean Cruz) relationship. Vincent said his wife Yoyo Chen does not mind the kiss scenes repeatedly: "But she will definitely not watch it!" Selena plays the millionaire's daughter-in-law, but in reality she rather be a housewife with a loving husband: "It is too pressuring marrying into a wealthy family. Also, with that much money, there is no way one can savor life."

Asked who she wants to 'trade' lives with the most? Selena said she wants to be a mermaid the most: "I always dream of a Prince Charming coming to pick me up. If I meet the right person, I may just go for a lightning marriage." Myolie Wu and the cast of Wish and Switch including Johnson Lee, Selena Li, Vincent Wong and Angela Tong held a private dinner celebration for the good start of a 31 point peak rating. Selena frankly said she is very excited and happy that the series had a good start. She believes the scene where she reveals her career line and the bed scene with Johnson will push the ratings up. Selena Li has been said to be involved in a case of beauty cash-planting scheme (or a pyramid scheme). A 18 year old girl complained that a salesperson tried to sell her Body 9ine Culture product coupons, in which Selena is spokesperson for. The salesperson also tried to persuade her to borrow money using false information and join the marketing industry. All she has to do is buy a course of beauty treatment, take a course at Selena's Technique Beauty School (TBS) and sign a contract to become the company called, Enlighten, business development director. Soon after, the girl felt uneasy and disclosed the incident. Yesterday Selena appeared at TVB City to clarify the incident has nothing to do with her beauty school and she reserves the right to take legal action.

Yesterday afternoon, Selena appeared at TVB City for an interview. She stressed the beauty school she opened earlier, TBS, is not involved in this case. Selena expressed "Enlighten" is one of TBS's business partners, responsible to market the school's products and courses. If there is success in recruiting new students, there will be commission earned. So, sometimes there would be new students that go up to TBS for a tour. Enlighten's offices are also neighboring TBS, but Selena does not know of Enlighten's internal operations. It was only yesterday when Selena saw the report that she realized how much confusion there is in Enlighten's business operations and that they didn't fulfill the requirements, so she immediately cut off the collaboration with them. Also, she stressed she is only Body 9ine Culture's spokesperson and is not involved in their business operations. Her beauty school (TBS) is completely independent of the company.

Selena reiterated that her beauty school has nothing to do with this incident. If she really was involved in the fraudulent case, she believes she would already be in the police station. Yesterday after Selena saw the report, she wanted to cry, but she knew she had to face matter with maturity and handle it. She also felt the case affected her reputation, so she is currently seeking legal advice and reserve the right to take legal action.

Selena made a final comment that anyone who paid for a course with TBS through Enlighten can contact her beauty school and request for a refund. When asked if Enlighten's marketing strategy brought her a lot more income? She said it's been ok, TBS can still live without them, so it's not that flourishing.

Since Selena Li's entry into the entertainment circle, she rarely had any intimate scenes. Recently when shooting for TVB new series Endless Exchange of Enjoyment, she kisses two men all in one go -- Johnson Lee and Vincent Wong. In the series, she plays the millionaire's daughter-in-law, but in reality she's not desperate to marry into a wealthy family at all. She feels wealthy men attract too many "peach blossoms".

Selena has been growing out her long hair for many years. This time for her new series, she cuts it. Earlier for this exclusive interview, she still had her long hair. After so many years of being in the industry, Selena rarely has any intimate scenes, this time she goes for a 'double', having many intimate scenes with Johnson Lee and Vincent Wong. Yesterday morning, the weather turned cold, TVB artists Myolie Wu and Selena Li were shooting a fall-into-the-water scene on location at Sham Tseng for new series Endless Happiness (Previously known as, Endless Exchange of Enjoyment). The two girls were already shivering in their jackets before shooting started. Soon after when they had to fall into the water, they screamed: “So scared! Waiting to die!”

In the series, the two exchanged idenitites through a high tech website, they follow by fighting over a man. Myolie and Selena were pushing and pully by the pool side when they both fell into the water. First it was Selena who pushed Myolie, wearing 5-inch heels, into the water. The splashes went everywhere, Myolie shouted instantly: “I bumped myself!” Looks like she bumped her head on the pool floor. Fortunately, the professional Myolie claimed she was fine and the shoot continued. In the next part of the scene, Myolie pulls Selena into the pool with her. Selena clearly had a hard time bearing the cold as her teeth were chattering. However, she still did several poses for the camera.

She revealed: “People only register with the school because they heard other artists been here which is good for business. Some people use this to turn minor hitches into big issues and blame me for it. So I cannot make any mistakes.”

When asked if management is difficult, Selena expressed that initially they allowed students to use however much of the school’s cosmetics and were all provided with designer make up. She added: “There were used up so quickly and lots were wasted. I had a heartache, so now we are providing each student with a set of makeup kit each. Any others, they will have to buy.”

Selena expressed that she would like to start teaching and open a DIY makeup class at the school. She added: “Every artist has praised me for the makeup I did. I also did some YouTube videos, but I would not charge over the odds just because i am an artist.”

Myolie joked that she wants to exchange time with Selena, so she can have free time to go out with a guy. Angela then played Myolie back and said she wanted to exchanged boyfriends with her. Angela advertised to Myolie that her boyfriend knows Kung Fu.

Myolie said: "Angela is just kidding, I almost got fooled by her. She said the person with good Kung Fu is Ram Chiang who stood next to her. (Why did you not generously admit the relationship with Bosco Wong?) Nobody said anything, in this aspect, girls must be reserved. (Can you accept exchanging boyfriends?) There are many different websites on the internet, what's popular is exchange of items. Producer Lam Chi Wah used this to outline a story and start new series Endless Exchange of Enjoyment. The series is a lighthearted story about life views. Myolie and Selena were initially people from different worlds, one is a beautiful housewife, while the other is a billionaire's daughter-in-law, but after their identity switches, Johnson Lee foolishly slept with Selena. However, Selena enjoyed being a young housewife, and was unwilling to switch back with Myolie. To seduce her husband (Johnson), she does not hesitate to turn from the first wife to the third party, forcing the honest and considerate Johnson to have an affair.

Asked if Myolie wants to be a billionaire's daughter-in-law in real life? She smiled: "I never been one, so I don't know. However, being able to go shopping and swipe the credit card unlimited times is pretty enjoyable. Although it's good to have a stress free life, but rich people have their own worries, each family is different. If I like children, and willing to be a housewife, then that's fine too.
