Weeks after he admitted to having once dated 16-year-old model Cammi Tse, Hong Kong singer-actor Edison Chen finally broke his silence over the matter, during an appearance at MTV China's 2011 Style Awards held at the Beijing National Stadium on Wednesday, reported Chinese media.

The 31-year-old star left Hong Kong following his admission and did not respond to any media queries about how the intimate photos of him and Tse came to be, or confirm if he had sent Tse racy text messages as the tabloids had alleged.

However, Chen stepped forward on his own accord to speak about the matter when he met the press on Wednesday.

"I won't answer any questions today, but I have something to say to everyone. Previously, a lot of things have happened to me and I want to explain some things to people.

"Half a year ago, seven months ago, I broke up with my girlfriend Vincy [Yeung] and I was actually unhappy, very lost, so I found the wrong outlet to make myself happy," said Chen.

"This time, I did wrong; I was too straight, too stupid and believed people.

"If I have disappointed my supporters, I want to apologise to them and hope they can forgive me," Chen continued.

"When you look at people, you need to look at [their] present, future, don't always keep looking at the past."

That might be a tall order especially since Chen has such a colourful past - he was once embroiled in a sex photo scandal which involved top stars like Gillian Chung and Cecilia Cheung in 2008.

Following the 2008 Artist Photo Scandal, Edison Chen's reputation and career hits rock bottom. We all thought he would change and start over, but he still has those bad habits of taking sexual photos. Yesterday [Oriental Daily] took the lead in exposing 31 year old Edison and 16 year old lengmo Cammi's intimate kiss photos. Last night, a few more photos were circulated online. Edison was seen half-naked with Cammi kissing with their eyes closed.

Earlier, it was rumored Edison and his girlfriend Vincy broke up. On October 1st, when Edison attended an event in Taiwan, he insisted his relationship with Vincy was going well. However, this time Edison shows his true colors once again. According to the news, Edison often goes to Cammi's house for their secret meeting. He wanted her to wear female undergarments and school uniforms to take seductive photos.

Amidst rumours of break-up, Edison Chen stressed that everything is fine between him and Vincy Yeung, the niece of Albert Yeung (the boss of Chen’s former management Emperor Entertainment Group).

Brandishing the bracelet that signifies their romance, Chen, 30, denied that his girlfriend of five years was upset over his reconciliation with Cecilia Cheung on an airplane earlier on.

“We are very happy together!” he declared. In fact, the singer-actor is planning to celebrate his 31st birthday with his girlfriend in advance, as he has to fly to the US to attend a meeting on the day (Oct 7).

His multi-national fashion business and jet-setting lifestyle did not get in the way of his romance, he added, saying that he makes time every month to accompany Yeung.

HONG KONG: Hong Kong singer-actor Edison Chen's personal assistant revealed Tuesday that the star had recently flown to the United States to meet Lady Gaga to discuss collaborative opportunities for next year, reported Chinese media.

"Lady Gaga will embark on a series of activities in Asia next year. She knows that Edison is building up his fashion label in Asia and owns an entertainment company. She hopes to work with him," said his assistant, known only as Mr Tay.

Tay went on to dispel rumours that Chen's meeting with the flamboyant singer was to seek her help in creating his new album.

Chen's assistant said that Lady Gaga was probably too busy with her own concerts at the moment to assist Chen with his album that is due to be released in November.

According to Tay, Chen had known Lady Gaga for many years and described her as a "hardworking, smart and opinionated artiste".

He added that both Chen and Lady Gaga have long been admirers of each other's sense of style.

Lending credence to Tay's words was two of Chen's latest blog posts.

On Saturday, he posted on his blog a photo of himself sitting cheek-to-cheek with Lady Gaga at a publicity event in Taiwan.

In another blog entry on Tuesday, Chen also thanked Lady Gaga and her management company Atomic Factory for awarding him special status when he attended her concert recently.

The Chinese-Canadian star's 2008 sex photo scandal rocked the Asian entertainment industry and left both his career and reputation in shambles, forcing him to spend most of his time in the US since the incident.
