Joe Ma has been said to have vigorous peach blossoms (girls), indeed he has had countless rumors since his debut. Almost all of the female artists he had worked with gets a rumor with him. Of course, time proves everything, many of his so-called rumored girlfriends are in fact his good friends.

JOE: Many people call me a "FaDan Killer". Actually Moses Chan has that title too! Haha! Honestly, there are just two types of rumors in this industry, two artists are dating or two artists are on bad terms. Well, I rarely have any bad term rumors, it's usually just dating rumors!

I've worked with many actresses, such as Maggie Cheung, Jessica Hsuan, Ada Choi, Charmaine Sheh, Sonija Kwok, Flora Chan, and many more. Let's talk a little bit about Ada Choi. She's a very good artist to learn from because she treats people very well. She makes the people around her feel comfortable and because I'm a Cancer and I've been a police officer before, I'm very defensive. That's why I don't have many friends, she is the one who opened me up.

I still remember one time we had to shoot early in the morning in the studio. That time I lived in Yuen Long, and couldn't awake up. At the time, I was shooting the series with her, so I called her right away. I told her I overslept and I'm flying over there. Ada heard this and immediately said: "Whatever you do, don't speed! I'll put on my makeup slowly and try to stall a little." Before she hangs up, she asked me if I had breakfast yet. She's really that good of a person!

As for Charmaine, I collaborated with her in several series. The first one should be in 2001 Country Spirit. People say she's always letting out her 'electricity', but I only feel one thing about her, she's just amazing. She is the only person I've seen that could withstand working overnight. We could get our days and nights confused, but she still manages to maintain the same good looks, nothing changes. She's an actress that never gets overworked! Sometimes we shoot continuously through the nights, she says she's very tired, but she still looks so awake and high spirited. I think she's just a natural beauty, haha! Also, Charmaine's EQ is extremely high. She has a very good temper and sometimes when she hears negative comments, she'll just laugh it off. You will never see her upset. This is the deepest impression Charmaine left on me.

Sonija Kwok is a person that can really eat. That time we were shooting for several months in Mainland. The environment in Mainland is pretty hard, but she didn't complained at all. She has a straightforward personality.

My wife in Triumph in the Skies, Flora Chan, she's actually technically my senior. That time, she was already very popular. She taught me a lot. I remember when we were shooting the first scene in TITS, it was pretty intimate. She said I don't have to mind at all, just put my hands on her. In fact, sometimes in kiss scenes, the actor is actually not unnatural than the actress. After all, men can easily get misunderstood. If the actress is as open as Flora, then you feel a lot more comfortable to do the scene.

Prior to Joe Ma's entry into showbiz, he was a police officer and has been in G4 (VIP Protection Unit) before. He protected several political figures including former governor, Chinese high official, and even Prince Charles and Princess Diana. This year is Queen Elizabeth's 60th anniversary on the throne and since Hong Kong used to be under British rule, the people of HK have a special feeling for royal family of England. Joe feels honored to have protected the Prince and Princess before! Joe had been with TVB for 18 years and gain recognition from Triumph in the Skies. He said it was all based on luck, even if it he's promoted to a Siu Sang, he still got no awards!

JOE: I was a police officer before I entered showbiz. At the time, I wanted to help my family out and thought police was a stabled job. Also, I was very passionate back then and wanted to contribute to society. After spending two years at the police training school, I graduated and became an uniform officer. I remember my first time on beat with a colleague and wrote the ticket wrong. That time, I thought being in the police was like what you see in those cop and robber movies, but I didn't encounter any big cases, it was quite peaceful.

The most frightening time was when I was chasing after a thief. Actually I'm considered athletic, but when you have to run in an uniform and carry a police duty belt, it is a different story. I really think the police uniform is set up all wrong, and we had to run in leather shoes while holding onto our cap too. The entire uniform is like over 10 pounds, it's basically impossible to catch the thief, so stupid! A year later, I switched to being an officer responsible for handling disturbances and demonstrations, but then after another year, I switched to being a police without the uniform. I still had to carry a gun, but never used it. People say it's a good thing. I used handcuffs before to detain the criminal though, but then I didn't feel it was challenging enough, so I applied into G4. At the time I was only 20 years old.

Protected Prince Charles and Princess Diana

G4 is primarily responsible for protecting political figures. I've protected Prince Charles and Princess Diana before, as well as former Singapore prime minister (Lee Kuan Yew), former Chinese high official and the former governor. I really think I'm lucky, since I could be on the same elevator as the royal family. Prince Charles is a gentleman, who gave me a strong feeling of nobility. Princess Diana is very nice and friendly. One time she was shopping in Central and asked me to carry her bags, but I said I cannot do that. She was very understanding and carried her own bags.

After 3 or 4 years in G4, I changed jobs and became a model. I was in the police force before, so I had and ideal body figure for a model. Then I encountered a TVB person and they told me its a good company. At the time, my salary as a police was HK$12,000, and at TVB it was only HK$9000, but there will be other income when your an artist, so I decided to sign a contract with them.

When I first entered TVB, they were preparing to shoot a Wynners' series The Chord to Victory and said I was going to be Kenny Bee or Anthony Chan, but that never happened. Wallace Chung took the role. My first official series was Heroes From Shaolin, I was a really annoying villain. Actually I never learned acting before, but what I remember most was one time we were shooting at a Buddhist monastery, I didn't know anything. Luckily Eddie Cheung and the other artists led me into character! The first few years at TVB, all of my roles were villains. I asked the producer why I'm the only one playing these roles? He said I'm tall and good as the antagonist.

18 Years with TVB, Didn't Get a Single TVB Award

I was in the industry for 7 years before I finally got to participate in 2000's The Threshold of an Era. Although I was still a villain, at least I got a supporting role. I was no longer in the third or fifth line. At least when I go out, there were reporters who wanted to interview me. That time, I still remember I had scenes opposite of Liza Wang, she is a very serious and a prepared person. She's always advising me and said that artists should always be aware of surroundings, even if I'm not working. I thought Ah Jeh (Liza) was very professional. She's definitely my idol and mentor!

Then I was given a role in Triumph in the Skies. It was my first time I got a taste of being popular. Later, when I was helping Flora Chan shoot an MV in Stanley, there were suddenly 30-40 students chasing after me. It turns out they just wanted to take pictures and get my autograph. TITS was such a success, but I didn't even get one My Favorite Character award at TVB. At the time of the anniversary awards, only 10 episodes aired and my scenes didn't come until after 20 something episodes. The next anniversary was already too far, so sometimes it's about luck. Actually Revolving Doors of Vengeance was a pretty popular hit too, but I still didn't get any awards. I've been with TVB for 18 years and didn't get a single award, even I think that is one of my regrets!

Joe Ma, Jessica Hsuan and the rest of the Tiger Cubs cast attended a charity event. As Tiger Cubs is getting good response, Joe said because of this series he has gained a wider range of fans. He expressed: "I'm planning aparty on a cruise on the day of the finale. (What's the dress code for the party?) Whatever you like! The date hasn't been set yet, but on the finale night, Jessica has to celebrate her birthday with fans in Shanghai, so she may not be able to come." He also reveals: "Because TVB has good scripts, roles and teams, I will be going back to TVB for a per-series contract. (Good salary too?) Everything is good!"

Fan wanted to sleep with Joe

When speaking of many TVB Siu Sangs involved with Mainland actresses, Joe said: "I haven't!" He believes there are many professional artists in Mainland, and he has had pleasant collaborations with them. His wife is also not worried about him and often accompanies him to work whenever she's free. When asked if he's got any SMS from girls? Joe expressed he hasn't, but he won't respond to strangers. He exposed there was once a fan who messaged him on Weibo and said she wanted to sleep with him. Other fans immediately scolded that fan. Jesica heard this and expressed: "That's crazy! I've had fans confess their love for me too." Joe laughed: "Nothing better to do!"

Him is willing to sing with Tavia Yeung as couple team

When Him Law heard about Joe's party on a cruise, he was a bit surprised because he's afraid Joe might make him wear a bathing suit. If the ratings get better, will he wear a bathing suit? Him laughed and said he will, but he'll add cycling shorts over of his triangular swim trunks. He's not worried of the 'modern' effect, because he's wore them as a life guard before, in all kinds of colors and designs too. It's just been too long since he's put those kinds of swimwear on, so he feels a little embarrassed. He said his current body figure isn't as fit since he's been too busy and hasn't had time to work out.

Him will soon be going overseas for a stage performance and will have to sing. Lately, he's been actively practicing his singing and now he's voice is hoarse, so now he has to work hard on getting his voice back. If someone approaches him to release an album, he can consider. Has rumored girlfriend Tavia Yeung, heard him sing before? "Next time I'll invite her for karaoke then, then you all can ask her what she thinks of my singing. I heard Tavia sing before, not too bad. If the price is good, and we're comfortable collaborating, can consider singing as a 'couple team'."

Christine Kuo was said to be one of Kevin Cheng's girlfriends. She expressed: "Every artist who has worked with him gets rumored, he's a popular guy. (What if he pursues you?) Talk about it when it's actually true!"

Yesterday (June 27th) was Joe Ma's 44th birthday. He and his wife hosted a birthday party and celebrated their wedding anniversary, which is on June 28th. Also, on June 22nd it was their son's birthday as well. Although the couple had been through a lot of 'turbulence', none of that affected their relationship. The couple are still passionately in love, and happily had a wet kiss in public.

Joe reveals he'll be taking his wife to Guam for vacation and also make up on the wedding photos. He said: "Back then we didn't take any wedding photos when we got married. Between July and August, I have some time, so I'm going to be going to Guam with my wife for vacation and to take wedding photos. We even hired the local photographers there and still considering to bring our son along, so he can be our flower boy." Asked if he'll have any more children with his wife? The couple laughed loudly and expressed they weren't sure if its still possible.

Yesterday Joe attended a radio show, and when speaking of the complaints new series Tiger Cubs got for the violent and bloody scenes? He said: "I didn't think so. There was someone who complained why the series didn't air on Monday too."

Also it was rumored Joe gets paid 15k RMB per episode when he shoots a series in Mainland? He said: "I'm a freelance, about that amount. (Did Ricky Wong invite you over?) Just as long as there is a good script and the right price, I'll consider. However, TVB comes first." He expressed he had too many negative news before and is thankful that his wife, manager and friends have been so supportive. He said: "My wife laughs off the rumors, she has higher EQ than me."

TVB new weekend series Tiger Cubs premiered on Sunday. The first episode averaged at 29 points and peaked at 30 points, making it the highest rated series of last week. Yesterday the cast celebrated the success as well as lead actor Joe Ma's 44th birthday. Mandy Wong, JJ Jia and Kayi Cheung gave him blow kisses. Kenneth Ma later gave Joe a birthday hug. The producer then asked Vincent Wong and Him Law to embrace, making it a funny moment.

Joe is very pleased with the ratings, when asked if he felt relieved? He smiled: "Yes, yes." He believed its necessary to fumble when the series is airing at a new time slot. Initially, they thought the ratings would just be between 23-25 points, but now with such good results, the cast and crew are very excited and hopes the ratings continues to rise. As viewers complained of the terrifying scenes? Joe explained: "These are often the cases that require SDU's assistance. The future cases will continue to be bloody and violent, so that's why the series is broadcasting in the late evenings." It was said the series plagiarized the film Breaking News? He said: "Police films are inevitably linked to robberies, most important is the acting and artists giving off a fresh feeling. That is how viewers can watch happily." Joe reveals he'll be treating the entire cast and crew for a celebration later this evening and will bring his wife and son along.

The producer exposed Kenneth and JJ's kiss scene NGed several times, Kenneth laughed: "All thanks to the behind-the-scenes crew, if it wasn't the microphone having issues, then there were problems with the lighting." However, after JJ had a kiss scene with Oscar Leung the other day, she didn't want to kiss any other person anymore because she thought he was the best to kiss. JJ denied she said such thing, and said Oscar was just speaking nonsense.

Yesterday Joe Ma, Jessica Hsuan, Him Law, JJ Jia, William Chak, Vincent Wong, Benjamin Yuen, Jazz Lam, Kenneth Ma and the rest of the cast promoted for new series Tiger Cubs at TVB City. The male artists all changed into the SDU uniforms and appeared in armored cars, very impressive, especially for lead actor Joe Ma, who pulled 20 people on the armored car with a rope. The cast then played arm-wrestling games and Joe showed off his skills again, as he defeated Kenneth. JJ stole the limelight in a low-cut outfit. When JJ arm-wrestled Him Law, Joe covered his eyes with his hands.

Jessica said it's been a long time since she's been back at TVB, she smiled: "I'm happy, but they thought I wouldn't be able to come back." Unfortunately Jessica won't be in HK later, and won't be able to attend the next promotional event. As her love life isn't getting anywhere, Jessica has already decided she won't be having children because she is not confident she can raise them well.

Joe expressed there are a lot of action scenes in this series, and has lost 10 pounds. When speaking of the difficulty of shooting TVB series? He laughed: "Yeah! Shooting in Mainland is good, but I still had to endure through this stage to strengthen [myself]."

In regards to wealthy businessman Lau Sing Ding ruled guilty by the court and was sentenced 17 months in prison, Benjamin said: "I hope gets rid of that habit, and don't break the law again. I participated in his photo shoot at the auditions, and feel like I've been cheated." Joe also hopes Lau will change. Him expressed he won't visit Lau in prison nor does he have any comment on the ruling.

As for Deep Ng, an old classmate bad mouthed him, criticizing that he has a bad character. Jazz expressed he was Deep's classmate: "I am his only classmate that in this industry, but I didn't bad mouth him. We are good brothers and I believe he knows I don't have any news, so he's helping me do some promotion." He also strongly supported Deep, that he has turned good and hopes everyone can support his new album.

Although Joe Ma's contract with TVB ended, he still went back to shoot the promotional clip for his upcoming starring series Tiger Cubs. Yesterday Joe, Him Law, William Chak, Oscar Leung and Vincent Wong were in Sham Shui Po shooting an explosion scene. During the time, an object flew and got Him on the eye, but fortunately it was nothing too serious.

Joe, Him and William have all recently been involved in the Lau Ding Sing male artist nude photo scandal. It was rumored Joe was one of the main artists Lau 'stamp collected', but Joe stressed he does not know him. He asked reporters back: "Is it because the Tiger Cubs actors are too handsome, so we are all dragged into this?" He admits he has done a swimwear photo shoot back when he was 18 or 19, "Because I was part of a swimwear show, so I have done a photo shoot in my swimwear for the advertisers as part of the audition, but I don't think that is a problem at all." He urges young people to be cautious of traps and should choose to collaborate with professional companies.

As for Lau Ding Sing has been convicted of sexual harassment and criminal threatening charges, Him expressed he has also followed the development, but will not comment. Also, he won't avoid Joe because of the gossips and expressed if there are good ratings, he is willing to go topless to thank audience. Joe said: "Revealing [our bodies] can be seen positively, let audience know how much we trained for this series."

William Chak was rumored to be Lau's godson, but he expressed he has no comment because he had just been lectured by his company and will be more careful when meeting people in the future. "Because of this case, many people have been worried about me. My mom is asking me about it day and night."

Joe Ma and his wife Karen Cheung attended a celebration for their good friend for becoming Yan Chai's Director. It turns out the couple just took their son on vacation to Malaysia. Joe said: "A friend told us there was an earthquake in Indonesia, near the country and there may be a tsunami. Fortunately everything was fine. We took our son on vacation on his break from school, and also it has already been a while since we went on vacation as a family. We also went scuba diving." When asked if this vacation was to makeup for all that has happened? "There wasn't any reason, after all it's normal for a family to go on vacation."

Earlier because of the drunken sexual harassment incident involving Rose Chan, it was rumored Joe ran into some conflict with his marriage. Reporters asked Joe if he and his wife are fine now? Mrs. Ma didn't even respond yet, and her husband already fought to answer: "Our relationship had always been great, nothing changed!" When Joe scent that he's going to be asked if his relationship with wife is turning sour, he had a huge reaction. Joe loudly denied that there is such thing. Mrs. Ma didn't know how to deal with the media, but she eventually spoke up and supported her husband: "I support my husband. (Is he a 100% perfect husband?) I'm not perfect, can only try my best!" Joe added: "Nobody is perfect! However, first I need my wife to have more time to spend with me because she's rather busy." Mrs. Ma said: "I feel past events have already past, can't turn around, so should spend more time together."

Rose Chan’s (陳嘉桓) alleged sexual harassment by Benny Chan (陳浩民), while witnessed by Joe Ma (馬德鐘), took place on November 20th at 2 AM in Hengdian, China. When the photos were reviewed by Oriental Sunday’s editorial department, it was quite shocking! Oriental Sunday contacted Rose Chan’s manager to find out Rose’s relationship with Benny and Joe. Rose’s martial arts sifu, Sin Kwok Lam (冼國林), was extremely angry over the incident.

Oriental Sunday sought out Rose for an interview. As the publication deadline had passed for last week’s issue at that point, the interview was printed in the current issue of the magazine instead. Since the incident had occurred within 24 hours, Rose’s reaction may be in its truest form and less inhibited than after her filing of the police report in Hong Kong several days later. Regarding her “humiliation” with the two “wolves” Benny Chan and Joe Ma, Rose expressed outright hatred!

OS= Oriental Sunday ; RC= Rose Chan

OS: What exactly occurred at the barbeque restaurant?

RC: I was eating dinner with a group of Hong Kong artists. Since we were all from Hong Kong and there were veterans present, I thought it would be a good idea to talk to each other and meet up. After they drank too much alcohol, the behavior as depicted in the photos occurred. I did not know what to do; I thought whether I should stay or leave.

OS: Did you talk to other people about the incident?

RC: I spoke with my family about the incident; they advised me to be more careful going forward and that I should decline dinner invitations with people I did not know well.

OS: Did you feel as if you were sexually harassed?

RC: I do not know how to answer you…. I was the most unhappy that such incidents really do occur.

OS: They touched you from behind and your thighs? Joe Ma also leaned on your shoulder!

RC: …I am very scared right now!

OS: Why are you so scared?

RC: I kept resisting them throughout the incident. Their actions became more severe and crossed the boundary. I was very unhappy at that moment, but I did not know what to do. Right before we left, I pushed him (Benny Chan) against the wall and asked what he was doing?!

OS: Throughout the incident, did they say anything sexually suggestive to you? You were whispering to Joe Ma and appeared to be quite intimate with him. Why did you not stop him?

RC: They asked whether I was drunk. I was drinking Coke at the time, so there was no possibility of getting drunk. I felt that they were testing me throughout [the evening]. I kept saying no; I could not accept it. When I went to work today and saw Timmy Hung (洪天明), I told him I do not want to eat dinner [with Benny Chan and Joe Ma] as I did not want to be in contact with them again.

OS: Before Timmy Hung got drunk, did Benny Chan and Joe Ma touch and kiss you?

RC: Timmy helped me in resisting [them].

OS: After Timmy got drunk, they [Benny and Joe] were more aggressive and crossed the boundary?

RC: Mmmm… (sigh) I felt things were not okay at that point. I thought we should quickly leave when Timmy woke up. Afterward, their behavior became increasingly improper (sigh). Throughout the incident, I resisted. I felt that this should not be happening; I was very scared! He kept on touching me from behind. I said that I was only here to eat and not to play with you! Perhaps they thought I was a little girl and easy to bully (sigh).

OS: Since you know Wing Chun martial arts, did you consider defending yourself?

RC: I was afraid that I would be unable to hit them offensively and that they would double their efforts on me.

OS: What do you consider to be the most offensive move they committed towards you?

RC: Forcefully kissing and forcefully holding me! (They didn’t kiss your lips?) No, I dodged it. This was the first time I was without my manager and colleagues by my side. Next time I work overseas, I will find a colleague I know well to stay by my side and decrease networking functions.

Oriental Sunday Followed Hong Kong Stars for 3 Nights

Numerous Hong Kong celebrities were currently filming in Hengdian, China. On November 16, 2011, a reporter and photographer from Oriental Sunday flew to Hengdian [to visit the filming crews], arriving on the sets of The Founding of the Yuan Empire <建元風雲>and Laughter Shaking Mo Lam <笑功震武林>. During Oriental Sunday staff’s visit, Timmy Hung assembled numerous Hong Kong stars from various filming projects for dinner. From November 17th to 19th for three nights, the stars “partied”!

November 17th 8:30 PM (Szechuan Dinner) – The dinner’s organizer, Timmy Hung, reserved a VIP room on the second floor of the restaurant. Throughout the evening, Timmy was spotted going up and down the stairs to receive the artists attending the dinner. At 9:30 PM, Rose Chan arrived and Timmy went downstairs to receive her. After the dinner, the group boarded into different cars to go to a karaoke establishment. Despite attending the dinner, Alex Fong (方中信), did not follow the group to the karaoke and apparently went back to his hotel.

November 17th 10:30 PM (Karaoke) – The group arrived at the karaoke establishment and stayed until 1 AM. Timmy Hung left first without Rose Chan. Joe Ma, Benny Chan, Rose Chan, Terry Fan (樊少皇) sang until 2 AM before leaving together.

November 18th Lamb Dinner – Oriental Sunday was unable to discern where various Hong Kong artists had gathered for the evening. However, a group photo of the lamb dinner was posted on Weibo.

November 19th 8:00 PM (Hot Pot Dinner) – Oriental Sunday staff discovered that various Hong Kong celebrities had gathered for a hot pot dinner.

November 19th 10:00 PM (Karaoke) – The group of artists followed with another night of karaoke.

November 20th 12:30 AM – After karaoke, the women (except Rose Chan) returned to their hotels escorted by the male artists. Benny Chen drove one passenger on his motorcycle; Joe Ma drove two passengers in his car and Timmy Hung drove Meng Yao (孟瑤).

November 20th 1:00 AM – (Werewolves Appear) After the female artists were settled, the men went to a barbeque restaurant. The brave Rose Chan ventured with the group. Unfortunately, Timmy Hung fell into a drunken stupor shortly after arriving at the barbeque restaurant. Benny Chan’s behavior crossed the boundary line, while Rose Chan and Joe Ma appeared to be quite intimate in the photos. Oriental Sunday staff quickly took photos documenting the entire incident.

Rose Chan (陳嘉桓) was unfortunately sexually harassed by Benny Chan (陳浩民) and Joe Ma (馬德鐘) while in Hengdian, China several days ago. Sunday Magazine’s publication of the photos chronicling the harassment incident ignited angry reactions among Hong Kong celebrities, with Nick Cheung (張家輝) and Simon Yam (任達華) blasting the men’s unscrupulous behavior. Nick Cheung even cursed angrily, “If someone violated my daughter in this manner, I will [expletive] kill him!”

Nick Cheung noted, “My wife, Esther Kwan (關詠荷), and I are artists and also the parents of our daughter. If the harassment did in fact occur, I support the police to step in to handle the situation. If you consider the situation from Rose’s family’s perspective, they must be very hurt.” (If someone violated your daughter in such a manner, what will you do?) “I will [expletive] kill him! Even if you are drunk, you have to be responsible for your behavior!”

Condemned for Lewd Behavior
Nick professed that he did not know Rose Chan, Joe Ma, or Benny Chan well, but felt that Rose was only a young girl. Since she was working in China alone, veteran actors should take care of her. The reporter pointed out that life in Hengdian was dull and there was not much entertainment; thus, actors were easily prompted to “commit wrongdoings.” Nick strongly disagreed, “I also filmed in Hengdian in the past. As to whether you commit wrongdoings or not depend on the person. Please remember to tell everyone that the entertainment industry is not like this!”

Upon learning of Rose being sexually harassed, Simon Yam said, “They acted in such a horrendous manner? If this were true, they need to reflect upon their actions! Drinking can lead to problems! The Monkey King (Benny Chan’s) powers cannot match Wing Chun martial arts. Why don’t you ask Dennis To (杜宇航) to take a few sips and have a few rounds with him!” Simon urged Benny Chan and Joe Ma to issue public apologies to Rose Chan.

After seeing the harassment photos, Eric Tsang (曾志偉) angrily blasted, “That should not have happened! That’s too much! Let me go back and use my Wing Chun powers to knock those guys down!” (You will teach them a lesson?) “When I go to Hengdian next month, I will be sure to do so! Benny Chan often plays wildy, but Joe Ma is not like that! Perhaps he drank some fake wine? Last month, there was a chauffer who drank some fake white wine and he turned violent.”

Eric often got into trouble after drinking too much. Due to his experience, Eric said, “The worst thing is that you do not recall what happened even after you have gained mental clarity. Perhaps now they are immensely regretting their actions.” (But when you are drunk, you do not commit such lewd actions?) “That’s because my health is in a poor condition!”
Bosco Wong (黃宗澤) commented that it was inevitable that artists had to go drinking for networking purposes. He will be careful in avoiding getting drunk. “If I wish to drink, I will stay home to do so. If there are any problems, this will not impact other people.”

When asked to comment on Rose’s harassment incident, Myolie Wu (胡杏兒) indicated that she was unclear about the situation and did not wish to interject. Myolie indicated that she has only encountered gentlemen since entering the industry. Asked whether she was taken advantage of while drunk, Myolie replied, “No!” (How would you react if it happened to you?) “I do not know, but I hope it does not happen to any woman!”

Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣) hoped that Rose’s emotions will return to normal soon. “I have filmed in mainland, China too and there were celebratory banquets. Each time, I have to work early in the morning, thus I did not stay too long at the dinners. Although my alcohol tolerance is not high, no one forced me to drink with them.”

Supporters of Benny Chan and Joe Ma

Benny Chan’s good friend, Evergreen Mak (麥長青), trusted that Benny possessed a good character. “I do not understand why the photos were taken at such a close distance! There were so many people present. If the harassment had indeed occurred, someone should have stopped it.” (Will you urge Benny Chan to drink less?) “He has been drinking less. Last time I saw him, he did not even drink.”

Aimee Chan (陳茵媺) supported that Joe Ma was a gentleman. “Since entering the industry, I have been very lucky. The senior actors have taken good care of me. Joe Ma is a good ‘si hing’ [senior brother]. The actors at TVB are very gentleman and take care of junior artists.” (If Moses Chan (陳豪) acted in such a manner, what would you do?) “Ha ha! It depends on whom he kisses!”

Earlier Rose Chan encountered a "Devil Claw Wolf Kisses" incident in Hengdian. She and Timmy Hung, Benny Chan and Joe Ma were having late night BBQ, initially it was just a normal supper, but later Rose turned into the Dim Sum for "hungry wolves" (referring to Benny/Joe)!

At the scene, it was seen Rose was having supper with the group. The three men were drunk, Timmy passed out, while the other two tried to force kiss Rose several times. To stop Rose from screaming, Benny used force covering Rose' mouth with his hand. This frightened Rose so much she didn't know what to do! As for the other 'male lead', Joe Ma, who was sitting right next to her didn't stop Benny, but went to give her more hugs and kisses. Their behavior indeed went over the line.

As the situation was serious, Rose's management and boss (Sin Kwok Lam) was furious after seeing the photos from the magazine report. Initially, Rose was scheduled to be back in Hong Kong early next month, however, after this incident, her boss instantly changed her schedule and had her fly back last night. This afternoon, Sin will be holding a press conference, according to sources, they will also visit the police department vowing to win Rose's justice back.

After the wild incident, Benny admitted to his wrongdoings on Weibo yesterday afternoon, but he described himself to have 'good hospitality': "I am wrong, just blame that I have too good hospitality, I really treat my friends from the heart. We were all shooting in Hengdian, and a group of friends went out together for dinner, but the form of expression was too exaggerated that led my friend to feel uncomfortable. I caused worries to my family and friends. I am most thankful for the trust my wife has for me. In the future, I will be more careful and be wise when meeting people."

However, after the 'force kissing' photos came out, the incident started heating up. Five hours later, Benny writes on Weibo again. This time, he changes his words and apologized. Benny stressed he didn't have any inappropriate feelings for Rose: "Today I saw the report, and because of my playfulness, I brought too much trouble to everyone. I frightened Rose and cause angered to Master Sin (Sin Kwok Lam). To this, I am officially announcing my apology to the related parties of this incident. I also hope Rose's work won't be affected because of this incident. I just have a brother-sister relationship with you, nothing more. I hope Master Sin understands this and I apologize once again."

Subsequently, Joe Ma also changed his response after the photos leaked. He explained: "That day I was drunk, but I was still aware of my surroundings. I saw Rose wasn't happy, so I just wanted to show my concern and comfort her. I absolutely did not do anything inappropriate to her." When asked of Benny's condition at the time? Joe drew a line with him: "I'm not sure of the other matters!" Although Joe is currently troubled by the incident, yesterday Joe still attended the 911 CARRERA car expo in Guangzhou with famous model Ana R.

Rose Chan celebrated her 19th birthday in Hengdian earlier with the cast of new film 笑功震武林 including Timmy Hung, Joe Ma, Alex Fong (Chung Sun), Michelle Ye and Benny Chan. Since many of the cast where HK artists, it is rare to meet a large group of 'friends' in a foreign place and so the group decided to have dinner together. It was also another staff member's birthday, so after the dinner, Rose, Timmy, Benny, Joe and the other staff went to sing karaoke to celebrate. During the time, someone tried to convince Rose to drink, but she explained: "I'm underage, so I just want to drink juice" to turn the person down.

After karaoke, the group went out for supper at a BBQ place. At the BBQ, there was only Timmy, Benny and Joe remaining, and they were already drunk. Timmy was so drunk, he fell asleep at the table. Benny and Joe were so drunk they got out of hand. It was said Joe first went to hug and kiss Rose, then Benny gave Rose a kiss on the cheek and lips. Rose was so frightened her "soul flew away". First she had to use her hand to block off Joe and then use the other hand to cover her face from Benny, she shouted: "I'm still young, don't play!" One of the staff saw this and quickly pulled the two men away. Later, Joe and Benny apologized to Rose.

Regarding Rose's unpleasant event in Mainland, her mentor and manager (Sin Kwok Lam) expressed the details of situation is limited, but he is already very angered. Sin feels some people are even worse than a beast, bully young girls! He said with anger: "Wait until I find out the details of the story. If it is serious, I will definitely not be lenient, must take legal action and call the police. We are currently seeking legal advice from a lawyer."

However Sin, who is known to be fair, also scolded Rose for being incompetent of protecting herself: "The entertainment circle should have mutual trust. Being intoxicated (drunk) is just an excuse. She (Rose) is really not subtle enough, didn't know how to protect herself. I already scolded her for a whole hour. Such stupidity, these people treating young girls like that, of course it is not good. They are not assisting the younger generation at all, but instead take such inappropriate actions, I look down on these type of people."

Reporters contacted Rose to ask about her unpleasant event. Asked if the drunk Joe and Benny went too far, hugging and kissing her? Ros expressed: "This did in fact happen, I did push them away, perhaps they were drunk and there are some misunderstanding." Rose admitted Joe and Benny did apologize to her: "They said sorry to me. I just hope such unpleasant events won't ever happen again. When we go out to eat, it is usually a large group of people, I know how to protect myself, but it still turned out to be like this. In the future, I really have to avoid coming into contacted with people who are drunk! (After this incident, will you be upset and unhappy?) Of course I am unhappy, didn't think it would be like this. I hope this will not happen again."

Benny claims he was sober, no hugs/kisses, fears wife might miscarriage
Currently in Mainland, Benny was asked yesterday about the hugging and kissing incident with Rose? Benny appeared shocked: "What did I do? (Rose admitted you apologized to her after the incident?) Why did I have to say sorry to her! Last night we did go for supper, the boss and assistant were there too. What could I do in public? (Did you hug and kiss her?) No! Why would I? At most was whisper in her ear or put my arm on her shoulder. If even that kind of contact, she feels uncomfortable, then I can call her and say sorry! Because I did not have any motive to do something disrespectful at all. (Were you drunk?) I drank a little, but I was sober. I even drove the motorcycle back home! (Does your wife know?) No, I'm really worried how you all will write about this because my wife will be going into labor soon, don't want to frightened her so much that she'll miscarriage!"

Timmy was also present that night, reporters contacted him yesterday and he admitted he was there too, but he was drunk and didn't know what was going on. Timmy said: "I dazed off in the middle, Benny joked and asked Rose if she wanted to eat sheep testes, but Rose it was disgusting and was really scared. Benny then put the sheep testes near her and wanted her to eat it, so that's why there was a misconception that he kissed her! (Did you see the hugging?) It is just giving her support! As far as I know, Benny is a very playful person."

Joe Ma expressed over the phone: "I was just telling Rose a secret since I wanted to play a trick on Benny. (Did you hug and kiss her?) No, just got close to her. (What secret were you telling her?) Trick him into eating the sheep testes."

Joe Ma's wife opened fire on TVB earlier on Weibo, the other night the couple attended the Yan Oi Tong event together and encounters Virgina Lok at the scene. The three took a photo together for memories. Joe said: "No awkwardness when we see each other, we are not on bad terms." As for his TVB contract, it is still being discussed. When asked about his wife's outrage by injustice can help him get better salaries on the new contract? He said: "We are still discussing. (Pay raise?) Should be, the more the better. (Is there a Mainland company competing?) Like what Virgina Lok said, there is nothing to have no face for."
Yesterday Relic of an Emissary held a promotional event where the three news figures Joe Ma, Joel Chan and Sammul Chan were all absent from. Only the two leading actresses Kate Tsui and Elanne Kong, along with lead actor Michael Tse there to support the promotion. Towards the artists absent from the promotion, Elanne expressed she feels disappointed, while Kate joked: "Those new figures are being written nonstop on the news lately, perhaps they are mentally tired of it. I'm just kidding!" Also, Kate reveals that earlier she lost her voice due to being sick, but had to keep working. Asked if she felt the artists absent from the promotion are being disrespectful to their work? She said: "Everyone have their reasons, perhaps they're really sick, I understand my colleagues!"

About Joel Chan absent from the promotion, Michael expressed: "I don't know, he's been sick lately, hope he'll get well soon. No reason for him to come on his sickbed with the IV hanging on him to the promotion right?!"

TVB series Relic of an Emissary is broadcasting into the second week with average TV ratings. Yesterday because of Joe Ma's inability to distinguish "si" (士 - scholar) and "tou" (土 - soil) has become a hot topic in the discussion forums. In the Hong Kong discussion forums, Netizens discovered that in episode 6 of Relic broadcast last night, Joe Ma who played Prince of Yan turned the phrase 'four occupations' (士農工商) into 'land farming' (土農工商) and becomes a laughing stock. Netizens then madly criticized that TVB is being so like "whatever" in their productions.

Last night on a scene in Relic, Prince of Yan (Joe Ma) was discussing the national policy with the new Jianwen Emperor (Joel Chan). When Prince of Yan mentioned "four occupations" (士農工商), he ended up saying "land farming" (土農工商) instead. Although he only said 1 character wrong, it was still noticeable. A Netizen expressed that when [he/she] heard Joe said the wrong word, [he/she] went mute and was speechless. Some say TVB has the attitude of "whatever" in their productions, followed by discussions on problems with Prince of Yan's lines. When speaking to the late royal ancestors, Prince of Yan calls himself "Boon Wong". This is called into question because he's talking to his father, so why isn't he calling himself "Sun Yi"?

"Next time we will be more careful"

Reporters contacted Joe to asked about his mistake? He expressed that he already forgot what his lines were, and he is not sure of the history. He stressed that he just followed what the script said, and the question should be asked to the scriptwriter. Towards saying the wrong word and becoming a laughing stock? Joe said: "Next time we will all be more careful!"

Relic is set in the Ming Dynasty period, and follows the history, so that's why it has become an even hotter topic for Netizens. Some Netizens tease that the series should change it's name to Detective Emperor Yongle. There are other comments that Joel Chan's role as the Jianwen Emperor, the Wen should be "炆" and not "文".

Producer Wong Wei Sing expressed that if Joe made a mistake in the lines, he will have to watch the playback and look into it. However, the wrong character used for Jianwen Emperor is currently being checked. He said that Relic is not a comedy series, and is especially careful when working with history, will be mindful of all the details.

Elanne Kong does not know how to cook, but now she has came across Joe Ma, who is skilled in cooking. The two had a long talk about the joys of cooking and their acting careers. Joe said when he encountered a down time in his career, he was fortunate to have Felix Wong and Gallen Lo's encouragement to keep him going.

Elanne: I remember when I first saw you, I really didn't dare to talk to you because at the time you were dressed in the ancient costumes with a beard and looked so aggressive. During shooting, I really did not dare to NG, you were just too familiar with your lines. I felt great pressure while working with you, but towards the middle I realized that you were actually quite playful. However, because you had a fake mustache and beard, you had to watch out when you laughed. I saw your look, when you kept your mouth closed and laughed with hohohoho sounds, it was so cute! So how did you feel when you first saw me?

Joe: I felt you are a very happy person, very optimistic. Some girls gives people the impression that they are a little distant, but you felt very close. Once I saw you, we could chat, a fun girl.

Elanne: Then am I like a man?

Joe: Well you have the attractive feminine qualities too, just your personality is quick and bright!

Elanne: Haha! After so many years being in the industry, no one has told me I had that attraction!

Joe: No really? Don't know what's good?

*After a moment of loud laughter, the interview continues.

Like an army in combat

Elanne: Acting with you, there's a lot of feeling, especially the frightening scenes because you looked so fierce! Getting yelled at by you, I was so scared!

Joe: I am very serious into my acting. Collaborating with you in Relic of an Emissary, I went from a Wong Yeh (Emperor's Uncle) to the Emperor. In the palace, you always have to put up your guard, rarely is there a time to relax, so got to be very fierce.

Elanne: Luckily, I am Princess Wing Yeung in the series, the only one who can whine to Royal Brother 4. In the series, you weren't too fierce towards me, I remember one time you and Skye Chan were doing a scene, you had to pretend to have gone crazy, screaming and yelling, Skye was actually frightened by you, and it was seriously frightened too! After the director called cut, you went to comfort her. I like shooting series, feels like a family, you always hide my shoes too!

Joe: It's like an army, in combat together.

Elanne: Today I'm interviewing you, actually there is something I really want to expose, and it is something personal about you. Because I truly admire you from the bottom of my heart, besides your good acting, you also have really good learning spirit. One time you saw a fan that my assistant's dad made for me, the fan was made out of film, so it's very strong. You thought it was special, and told my assistant's dad to make another one for you. Then the assistant told me that you actually personally called him and wanted to go up to his house to learn how to make the fan. My assistant's parents couldn't believe it, and said: "Huh! Joe Ma wants to come to our house?!"

Joe: I am quite interested in DIY material, when I was young my dad makes things too, and I would follow along. My favorite was disassembling radios and then put it back together.

Elanne: I am curious, after you learned to make the fan, who would you make it for?

Joe: I went to their house not to learn to make one thing because your assistant's dad had a wide range of skills. We have a colleague who's phone got scratched, he helped me fix it. It's like completely new now, the skill he has can help out of people. I learned how to make the fan, and I gave it to my partner. When I went to Mainland to shoot another series, Gallen Lo saw it and wanted one too.

Handsome entering the kitchen, mutual trust with wife

Elanne: You and Ah So (his wife) met 18 years ago. I am also very honored to have participated in your father's birthday party and saw Ah So there. I felt she was very pretty, you two are basically a perfect match, a rare pair. In fact in this industry, always flying back and forth, how do you two maintain the marriage?

Joe: Really have to rely on mutual trust. Some people may need lots of time for themselves, but I just need a little. If I had a few hours break, I would go be a driver, picking up and dropping off my family. When I went back to Mainland to shoot series, my wife would come visit me too.

Elanne: When you look at your wife and son, you look so sweet. You really are an affable father, a good husband. Speaking of that, your son is very handsome, have you ever thought of allowing him to enter showbiz? Fight for girls together with his handsome father?

Joe: Never thought about that. If he wanted to, I will tell him to think through of the vital interest first. When you enter the industry, you have to be committed and there is a lot of pressure. There is pressure mentally and competition. It's very difficult.

Elanne: I know you are skilled in cooking, and even published a cook book before. I love to eat, after eating a plate, I can even add on another plate of pasta, but I don't know how to eat.

Joe: You really can eat a lot. I don't cook as often now, in fact the cooking process is not hard, it's just hard to make time to go grocery shopping.

Elanne: Do you like to make Western or Chinese dishes?

Joe: I like to make Western dishes. I remember one Christmas, I was living in Yuen Long and outside my house I put up a table and made lobster, pig hand and pasta. Added a few candles, we as a family, had a few drinks, some food to eat, very heartwarming.

Elanne: Such a handsome man, and knows how to cook, totally amazing! What does your wife like best of your cooking?

Joe: She's also good at cooking, she taught the house worker at home too, so it's nothing special. Actually my son loves my sweet corn chicken rice. He has the same taste as me, I like sauce, don't like dry stuff. With more sauce, it's perfect.

Received support during down time, kept it going

Elanne: You worked as a G4 before right, were you very popular? Is it easier to shoot Special Duties Unit?

Joe: Yeah, comes in handy when filming, but before I was not handsome, very skinny.

Elanne: Speaking of that, why did you go from a G4 to an actor? You know my makeup artist loves your old clothing commercials.

Joe: TVB recruited me because of that commercial. At the time, there was an Executive that told me, you come in, we will promote you. But then, after so many years, still didn't happen.

Elanne: When you encountered a down time in your career, did you regret entering this industry?

Joe: Back then I worked in several different divisions in the police department. At the time, I felt that continuing to work will forecast perspectives. I personally like to do new things, change environments and it seems pretty good. They said that I'll get promoted in 1-2 years, after I entered, I had to endure for a long time, but I know it's not TVB's fault. When I saw you, then I knew why. Back then, I really was too stupid. Collaborating with you, you were so familiar with your lines and had good acting. I never seen you NG, since I've been in the industry, honestly I have felt regret from time to time. I had doubts that I couldn't do it, luckily at the time there were Felix Wong and Gallen Lo that encouraged me. That's how I kept myself going.

Elanne: What did they say to encourage you?

Joe: Along the lines of "I feel you can do it". They gave me a shot of encouragement to relax me.

Elanne: Since you entered the industry, you have already participated in 70 series. So many productions, which one do you like the best? My favorite is Triumph In the Skies.

Joe: Triumph script was written well and my partners were top quality. Like Francis Ng, the results came out really well. However, I like Revolving Doors of Vengeance most, I feel it's suitable for me, the feeling of half good, half evil.

Jade Girl Elanne nicknamed 'Strong Explosion'

Joe exposed that the refined Elanne surprisingly has a nickname called "Strong Explosion"! Elanne laughed: "In fact behind the 'Strong Explosion' is Kong Fu Keung. Why do I have this nickname? It is because when I was shooting TVB series, everyone had a box with their costumes in it, the box had their names written on it. One day, I got back to the studio and was exhausted. I sat in front of TVB senior martial artist Kong Fu Keung's box, Michael Tse saw and called me Kong Fu Keung."

How did Kong Fu Keung become 'Strong Explosion'? Joe said: "One time she was in the makeup room and she didn't charge her phone, but surprisingly once she charged it, the phone exploded. At the time, many people heard the explosion sound. The entire makeup room lost power. After that, everyone said they won't let Elanne charge her phone in the makeup room anymore!"

Joe Ma's wife recently wrote on Weibo complaining that her husband is working long hours and having to attend social gatherings way too much, but his salary is so low. Clearly she is attacking TVB's harsh work schedules and salaries. She even gave a nickname to TVB executive Virgina Lok as "Lok Big Mom".

Yesterday Virgina expressed that she already called Joe and ended his wife's doubts. She said: "I am also very concerned for our artists having it hard while shooting series, able to withstand '5 workers, 7 injured'. I hope to be able to take artists' feelings into consideration too, otherwise there may be misunderstandings." She knows Joe is suffering from the flu lately, and had to be on saline IV in the hospital.

Virgina: No popular star had not suffered before

Virgina understands that the production costs needs to be controlled when shooting a series, the tight schedules leave exhausted artists. As for the low paying salaries, she said TVB is a good station, allowing artists to rise to a well known mark, thus increasing their personal value and attract more jobs, she said: "But to get to this stage, one must suffer a little, no popular star had not suffered before." As for the nickname "Lok Big Mom", Virgina accepts it: "I am not young, and I am many people's mom, it's better to call me Miss Lok." She does not treat artists like a money tree, she really does care about them like their own children.

Joe's wife wrote again on Weibo yesterday afternoon to support her husband. She wrote in English: "Life isn't waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain!" What she means is that one must remain strong during setbacks, and accept challenges.

Last night, Joe was shooting outdoor scenes for new series Special Duties Unit in the deep waters. He said his wife has her own standpoint, but that does not mean he thinks the same. Perhaps it's because he was sick earlier, and his wife was too worried about him that caused this misunderstanding. He already explained to his wife of the nature of his work. The incident this time also did not affect his relationship with TVB. Is TVB being too harsh to him? He said if he thinks that way, then he should not be here to make a living. As for his contract, currently still in discussion.

It was also said that Joe's wife felt pity for Joe being with TVB for 18 years and didn't get the TV King award after 8 consecutive years.

Charmaine got a raise from TVB

Charmaine Sheh attended an event and heard about this issue. She said: "No really?! Maybe that person isn't her! (TVB is often said to be harsh?) Nope, I got a raise, shooting series is definitely going to be hard work, just going to have to stick with it.

Yesterday Jessica Hsuan and Joe Ma were shooting outdoor scenes for TVB new series Special Duties Unit. The scene was about Joe speeding over in his car to bravely rescue Jessica. Earlier Jessica shot a thief chasing scene on the tail of the bus, although it was raining the whole time and she was soaked, she still expressed she really enjoyed it. She had always been desperate to play a cop, but laughed that she fears opening gun fire the most. Even if a balloon popped, she gets a little frightened. As for her partner Joe Ma was said to be leaving the TVB nest and heading up north to get the real money, Jessica said: "He can definitely do it. We all just want to make money, if we don't go out to earn it now, when will we do it then? After this series, I will be heading to another place to shoot another series, get some real money too!"

Joe said that there are a lot of action scenes in this series, and lately promotions for Relic of An Emissary started, so it's been a little difficult. Asked if he won't renew his TVB contract? He laughed: "I don't know yet, I never thought of leaving for good, just saying the Mainland market is big. (Did Virgina Lok invite you out for a meal to discuss the contract?) No, perhaps I'm busy, no time to discuss!" His contract is expiring at the end of the year, he said that a Mainland manager approached him, after this series he will be going to a Mainland series.

Following Charmaine Sheh indirectly admitting that she's no longer going to be a TVB artist, according to reports, there are other Fadans and Siu Sangs that have the same intention. Bosco Wong although still has 2 years left in his TVB management contract, he is already a hot candidate. Besides Peter Lam having interest in pulling him over to East Asia, other Mainland entertainment companies also wants to cut in to steal him. Another Siu Sang, Joe Ma, his contract is ending at the end of this year, and he is already slowly leaving the nest, going up north to make more money to support his family.

Peter Lam, from East Asia, had already had interest in Bosco long ago. Since he still had a few years left in his TVB management contract, East Asia signed him a singer's contract in 2008 and established a good relationship. Reporters contacted East Asia Executive (Chan Kwong Wing) regarding the rumor, he said: "We have always supported him, if not we wouldn't have signed him a singer's contract with us so fast. His contract with TVB, we are not sure of, but if he decides not to renew the contract, we of course have interest in strengthen the collaboration with him because he has the looks, acting and pretty good singing skills too. He should have a great room for development."

Last night, Bosco was shooting for new series Salute Laughing Sir and was asked about East Asia's invitation? He revealed over the phone: "I still have many years left, I really haven't thought about it yet."

Virgina Lok was asked about East Asia's invitation for Bosco, she said: "Huh? Bosco still has a long contract with TVB! Is it album promotion period? He just had a new song air on the radio."

Other than Bosco, who had been with TVB for 12 years, there is also Joe Ma, who had been with TVB for 18 years that is planning to leave. Last year, Joe went to 'fight' in Mainland, earlier he took part in Mainland series Ad Mania and is currently in Beijing for the press conference of another new Mainland series Legendary. He's development in Mainland is doing well, plus the it's good pay compared to TVB's price. Over the phone, Joe declined to comment about leaving the nest. He said: "Well I won't give up on the HK market, but I hope to have a bigger market. An artist just hopes to have more development. (TVB's contract?) Still discussing, we have consensus."
