It has been widely rumored Dayo Wong will be back to shoot a TVB series this year, aside from the opportunity to work with his You're Hired! partner Charmaine Sheh again, producer Tsui Wing Hong also had intentions tho shoot a sequel to 2000's popular sitcom War of Genders with Dodo Cheng. However, it was understood Dayo is actually returning to TVB in April for producer Man Wai Hung's new modern comedy series. The female leads are Kate Tsui and Sharon Chan. Dayo will continue his light-hearted and humorous acting style in the new series. The other cast includes comedian Louis Yuen, Benz Hui, Jazz Lam, "Siu Bo" May Chan and Elena Kong.

Producer Man Wai Hung previously worked on You're Hired! with Dayo, yesterday he accepted a telephone interview and when asked if he has intentions to bring Dayo and Charmaine back to 'continue their fate'? Producer Man frankly expressed: "We really wanted to get Charmaine back, but she couldn't make it work on her schedule." As for Dayo making his comeback, does he have any special requests or opinions? He said: "He's very nice, we had pleasant discussions. Earlier Dayo was busy with his comedy show world tour, but now we are planning the concept, story and direction of the series together."

Kate Tsui, who is paired up with Dayo in the series, expressed she cannot describe how happy she is. She said: "I have many friends who are Dayo fans. I believe after the news comes out, my friends will be visiting us on the set all the time. However, I'm still listening to the story and haven't seen Dayo yet." Reporters teased she replaced Charmaine, she said: "Impossible, how am I qualified? But having this opportunity, I will definitely give it my greatest effort." Kate expressed she knows Dayo is a very serious artist and most of his series have been highly rated and well acclaimed, so she's feeling stressed and nervous.

The other female lead, Sharon Chan, frankly expressed she greatly admires Dayo's talent and really looks forward to work with him. In the series, Sharon plays Kate's good friend, but has a crush on Dayo. They'll end up in a complicated love triangle. She said: "I watch Dayo's stand-up comedy shows! (Do you have a romantic storyline with him?) My role has a small crush on him, it's the misunderstanding type.. He plays my boss and enthusiastically tries to change me, making me turn from someone lacking self-confidence to a successful person. So, I thought he liked me."

Dodo Cheng and Dayo Wong created high TV ratings in their 2000 TVB sitcom War of the Genders. It was rumored there will be a sequel, but the female lead, Dodo denied: "I'm not filming any more series. After so many years of acting, I've portrayed every kind of role already, I actually enjoy my current life of discipline." It was said Dayo wants the sequel? Dodo said: "Nope! There are so many FaDans in TVB, just pick one of them!" She said there was a myth back in the day, it's difficult to make another breakthrough.

Next year, TVB will have two new competitors, NOWTV and CTI. To prepare for the competition, Catherine Tsang (head of Drama Productions) has been inviting old colleagues back including producer Tsui Jing Hong. It was understood, Producer Tsui will be inviting Wayne Lai and Moses Chan to star in a new series about lawyers and also old partners, Dayo Wong and Carol Cheng (Dodo). It has been 13 years since this 'diamond pair' collaborated.

In 2000, Dayo and Dodo collaborated in popular sitcom War of Genders, setting off a high TV rating record of 49 points. Producer Tsui expressed every time he sees Dodo, he always tried to persuade her to make a comeback, he said: "Dodo didn't say she's declining, but she just said we'll see how it goes. The most important is a good role and script. Although this is a challenge, I hope it succeeds." He also expressed he has contacted Dayo, but he is currently busy working on his stand-up comedy, so his role hasn't been created yet.

Besides Dayo Wong, recently TVB has been actively getting the veterans back. Francis Ng and Chilam Cheung are already back for TITSII; Lawrence Ng is back for THCII; Bobby Au Yeung and Esther Kwan will reunite again; Eddie Cheung, Kathy Chow and Michael Tse will be starting a law enforcement drama in December. Eddie was asked if he's returning to TVB because the company needs his rescue? He said: "Don't say that. TVB doesn't need anybody to rescue them. (New feeling?) No, just remembering the old times. CTI had also contacted me, but I'm returning TVB a favor. This will be my third time collaborating with Kathy." Also, Michael will be playing a villain in the new series, Eddie hopes to create new sparks with him: "His 'Laughing Gor' role was so popular, why wouldn't it be ok? He has confidence."

Dayo Wong's 1 of 8 20th ANNIVERSARY STAND UP COMEDY SHOW 2010 kicked off in Hong Kong Coliseum the night before. He splatted out his own history of bitterness in the entertainment industry and took artists' hiding marriage, cheatings and Tony Leung's Lust. Caution to joke with, making the entire venue burst in laughter. That night, it was full house with many artists who went to support Dayo. Artists who attended the show includes: Carol Cheng, Sean Lau and his wife Amy Kwok, Francis Ng, Wayne Lai's family of 3, Monica Chan, Jordan Chan and Yoyo Mung.

Carol Cheng tells him to fix his looks

Dayo practically didn't change the whole night, he only took off his jacket twice and made it into 3 different outfits, then had fireworks on stage. He recalls he became popular from TVB sitcom War of Genders, a collaboration with Carol. Back then, Carol said to him: "Dayo, you really are popular now, but really need to fix up your looks!" At the time, he was so hurt because he already "fixed his looks". The Carol below the stage heard his joke and pretended to be mad.

Once crown as "box office poison"

Later, he filmed several different movies, the box office suffered greatly and therefore was crown as 'box office poison'. Because of this, no one asked him to film another movie in 4 years. He also reveals that one time someone said: "Why you look like a pig! Blocking the way!" After they said that, he would then sing the ridiculing Piggy Blocking The Way (豬仔阻住晒). He then exposed that a female artist used "for religious reasons" and refused to do a kiss scene with him, but later he discovered that she was okay with doing a kiss scene with Alan Tam.

Dayo then took the artists in the industry like Andy Lau and Charlene Choi hiding their marriages and other affairs as a topic. He said he doesn't understand why the artists had to apologize? Like Ekin Cheng, whatever he does wrong, he won't apologize to the public, but instead uses his famous "Gangster" (koo wak jai) to apologize.

He also talked a lot about the outstanding actors once had to do 'take off pants' scenes, like Sean Lau, Francis Ng and also Tony Leung in Lust. Caution. Besides playing a traitor, he also played "International Pianist Master Long Long". Dayo joked that the scene required him to reveal his "long long" and that his 'long long' is not afraid of oven fire, just one request - is to find a good make-up artist to make his 'long long' nice looking. Finally, he happily said that it's finally a dream come true that he can sit in the first row of HK Coliseum and now he is on stage, he is greatly thankful of fans. Also, the whole night he made up all of his own "trendy words".

Yesterday Dayo Wong appeared on TVB's talkshow Big Four Up. As a guest, he flip the roles and started hosting as he teased William So being BIG FOUR's only member who has been through a divorce, when will he "give fun" (marry)? William got challenged on the spot. Dayo explained that he just knows William too well: "We been in a series together in Mainland before. One time during Mid Autumn Festival, us two men went on a human operated carriage, each with a mooncake in our hands and enjoyed the full moon."

He said: "Actually it's really pressuring as a guest. I don't know what they will ask. Before when I went on Be My Guest I almost wanted to cry. This time I have protection before coming, I prepared questions myself in case I need to bounce back at them. (You want to be a host?) Doing this type of show, either you have a lot of friends or you are the general manager. I don't have many friends, probably could only handle 4 episodes. If I do these types of shows, it would be good to go to Mainland for the background, play as we interview the guest. Take advantage of when the guest is under emotional confusion, that's when they will have the most true to heart answers."

World Cup is about to start, Dayo said: "I had a good time watching the last World Cup. I'm putting both sofas together as one, I'm not saying who I'm supporting because that team might be the one losing. Actually World Cup really reduces suicides, Foxconn should really think about doing a sponsorship."

TVB Producer Nelson Cheung has been in behind the scenes television industry for 30 years, relying boldly on innovative characters to generate applaud by the public. Some of his productions include Charmaine Sheh and Dayo Wong's "You're Hired" and Roger Kwok and Sonjia Kwok's "D.I.E" which has left deep impressions on audience. Among them, the Charmaine and Dayo fresh new combination created a strong chemical effect, giving happiness to all.

At an early age, Nelson has always loved to watch comedy flicks. Because of the accelerating Hong Kong film industry in the 70s and 80s, he was able to get into production and filming work. He joined ATV in 1979 as a PA and was promoted to director after 2 years. In 1985, he switched over to TVB and was promoted to a producer in 1989. Some of his productions includes: "One Step Beyond","Love Is Beautiful","Dicey Business","D.I.E", "You're Hired", etc, moving forward into his television career and earning a very good reputation.

Nelson had also always had an adventurous spirit, so he is brave on the roles he creates for the artists he uses. Back in 1991, he decided to use Dicky Cheung and Deric Wan for the comedy series "One Step Beyond", it was so funny that it left memorable impressions on audience. His recent production "Your Hired", he decided to use Charmaine Sheh and Dayo Wong for a fresh new pairing, not only did audience applaud to the idea, but even Nelson felt surprised at the great success the pairing gave off.

Admires Dayo Wong, Charmaine Sheh surprises you

He said: "I really admire Dayo Wong. He is one talented performer and he is very hard working. Every time he does a series, he would do a lot of homework for it. From TV series to stand up comedy, he is the best. He is a very generous person, whatever new ideas he thinks of, he'll definitely share it with others. When filming series, he doesn't know that his acting is good, but he would look after otehr artists, getting into character together. Charmaine, although she's one of the most popular actresses, but she really uses her heart to act. Not only does she fulfill the producer's requirements well, but many times she would give you many surprises along with it. So Dayo and Charmaine both give off good sparks. I also discovered that Charmaine really does have good comedy acting skills."

Supports Kenneth Ma, Tavia Yeung

Speaking of the rising stars, Nelson felt among the new rising Siu Sangs Kenneth Ma's acting is the most solid. New rising FaDan, he supports Tavia. He said: "I have worked with most of the new rising siu sangs, every one of them have their own strengths and hard work, but for acting Kenneth Ma is definitely the one that is most solid. Perhaps he knows he needs to put up the go down the acting path. As for FaDans, Tavia Yeung I support, she's like a military worker. Maybe its because whatever role you give her, she will put all her efforts into it for you, I have seen her improving all along."
